I can honestly say, I am happy to see the dark blue gone. It didn’t seem to go with your aesthetic. The thing I find the most charming about your cottage is how serene and peaceful it seems. Love the colour, looks so relaxing and goes with the style of the house. Could you try moving the bed to the opposite wall and make use of the alcoves for storage? Or bed under window?

I think the new wall colour looks lovely and suits the room. I would have a set of white shelves, like a Billy bookcase where the wardrobe is now. You could have some matching white baskets on the shelves to store your books, linens, and baby stuff, and it would give you lots of extra storage without looking cluttered. :)

The room looks lovely. ❤ With a baby on the way, I definitely think having a space that is calm and clutter free is a must. Keep it simple. Love the idea of having a fake bulb in the lamp on the dresser. Could the small wardrobe be used for baby's clothes and storage of wipes and nappies, etc... in the gap, a nice floor lamp (take away the lamp from your dressing table) or some hidden storage/laundry hamper. Instead of a bedside table for Dom, you could get those side tables that can slide under/over the bed, then it's not taking up space ❤

A pretty soft green throw would look lovely in your bedroom. Also maybe a faux plant from IKEA would bring “nature” inside. The draping kind on top of Doms cupboard. Just a thought.

Why don’t you turn the bed around to face the window and put the chest of drawers with the mirror on in the alcove and wall mount the tv next to the window ? Just a thought and suggestion ☺️

Glad to see the dark blue gone. Speaking from experience, we painted accent walls hunter green, and regretted it. I also live in a small cottage and it just shrunk the room even smaller. We went back to white walls

Hi Kay, what a lovely change to your room! Definitely alot more tranquil. Just curious, have you thought about putting your bed on the opposite wall, putting the flower pictures above the bed and the TV on the wall where the pictures currently are, removing the tall wardrobe from the alcove and putting the dresser in there with the books on top? You could even put the books backwards so you only see the colour of the pages to keep with the calm aesthetic in the room.... :)

What a beautiful make over! What I did with my clothes during my pregnancies is putting a box or bag in my closet. Every time I put something on that didn’t fit anymore, I put it straight in there. Our storage is also a bit of a hassle, so I didn’t feel like going back there for every shirt. It’s so nice and calm when you open your closet when all the clothes there are an actual option to wear.

I did love the deep blue, agreed when you first put it up that the matte would have been better. It’s also good to honour that aesthetics change and you are in nesting mode so honour what makes you feel comfortable! No matter what you’ve done, it always looks amazing! Wow ! That bottom drawer was like a tardis! 😊 So much stuff came out of it - I want drawers like that ! Oh the pain of choosing what to put away, you are just reminding me that I have a lot of clothes that also need sorting out - you have done very well so far. An idea Mount your TV on the wall and frame it with a picture frame. That will give you more room on you dresser top but when not using the tv it looks like wall art

The space behind the bed solution : have a floor to ceiling built in unit made. With either a sliding door so you can get to the end or have some shelves open shelves cupboard bits drawer areas etc x

Get a fitted wardrobe with shelves in that alcove, Kay. Maybe with some nice jali doors and painted either white or the same colour as your new walls. Love the colour.

That colour is so much more calming and more you! I feel like the dark blue wasn’t you for some reason. Just. a thought about the cupboard in your bedroom, would it be better to get a built in cupboard done instead of make shift one out of several pieces? It might look a little neater

Beautiful colour Kay so you all fresh calm and lovely. Our bedroom was the same as yours so we had the bed facing the other way around and then we were able to but a wardrobe each in the spaces either side of the chimney breast? It was a faff though because of where the plug points were so i had to use extension leads but it did work. I dont know how that would work though because of where your dressing room is but if it did work you could put your dressing table where your chest of drawers is and swap out one of the wardrobes for that instead with yoiur shelves above for your books? Always difficult with cottage shaped rooms but the cottage is beautiful theres always a way around it. Take care Kay Happy Birthday Dom. You are such a lovely couple. xxx

Lovely paint shade Kay, were having our bedroom decorated in July and I feel inspired. Think white shelves would look good in that alcove next to the bed. Dom can have a coaster on the shelf for that coffee.

Awwwww your bedroom looks so much brighter homely and inviting 😊 I use to love dark colours but this this year we went for creams and whites the difference it makes to the house is unbelievable so much brighter even the light from outside is brighter definitely makes a huge difference Kay I go up and down with my weight so much too trying to keep up with clothes that fit is hard lovely vlog as usual xx❤

Done my wardrobe recently too and I cannot agree more with the whole “body changes” thing. It’s soooooo hard. I used to be one size when I was younger now I’m more mixed sizes and find it so difficult what to wear so definitely end up with a wardrobe full. Bedroom looks lovely!! Well done you for doing all that painting whilst pregnant, just watching exhausted me 🙈😂 I love how you just fancy a change and go for it 🥰

When I started to explore colours instead of staying safe I also tried out the dark blue and realized that I enjoy colour but still not dark colour. I also find focal feature walls to be distracting and not work in many settings but when you find the setting like your dining room it works soo well.

Tip: You can use white toothpaste to fill in nail holes then when dry paint over. Love your paint color and your pretty vanity.🌺🛠️🪥

If that is an original scan photo, just be careful as they react to light and will fade over time (not too long I don't think). If you have copies then all good but if it is special to you then maybe take a photo and frame that instead x

If you decide to remove the chimney breast make sure your builder gets a party wall notice. (unless you're detached) To cut a long story short we're going through a nightmare with our neighbours because they didn't follow the correct legal proceedings. Your whole home is beautiful. Do you really need your makeup table in the corner? I think that corner should be reserved for a cradle( small baby bed) to be beside you through the night and feedings. The wardrobe works well there and you can put baby things in it. Perhaps make a little shelf on wall for Dom to put drink on etc... Just some suggestions. Your makeup routine will be very quick after having a baby. Could u do it in bathroom or spare room?

Hello there Kay,I didn't get it. Did you remove all your clothes? I hope not,you may fit in them again after your pregnancy. I have two kids,was just thinking,maybe you should wait until the baby is here🤷🏼‍♀️. I just wanted to tell you,you need to be carefull with painting your room. Just a tip. Paints may be hazardous,especially when you are pregnant.
