Here is my instrumental cover of "I Started A Joke by the Bee Gees which was originally released in 1968 on their album "Idea" and was also released as a single in December of that year. It was mainly written by Robin Gibb who also performed the lead vocal with help from Barry and Maurice on the bridge.
I played this using my Fender Stratocaster (Bridge Pickup) with the Zoom G2.1Nu programmed with Echoes From The Past (EFTP Patch B0). Recording was via USB to my home PC with Cubase.
The arrangement and backing track were by Pete Korving and the backing can be purchased through his website at - www.guitarbacki...
I also used tablature written by Ger Sanders
I hope you enjoy my version of this very moving song
LYRICS:
I started a joke
Which started the whole world crying
But I didn't see
That the joke was on me, oh no
I started to cry
Which started the whole world laughing
Oh, if I'd only seen
That the joke was on me
I looked at the skies
Running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed
Hurting my head from things that I'd said
'Til I finally died
Which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen
That the joke was on me
I looked at the skies
Running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed
Hurting my head from things that I'd said
'Til I finally died
Which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen, oh yeah
That the joke was on me, oh no
That the joke was on me
Oh, no, no, no
