My Mom was 13 years old and Dad was 12 years old when The Bee Gees released "Night Fever" on February the 7th of 1978.

Victoria BC, 1978. I was a young soldier stationed there and there was a club in the basement of the Empress Hotel called "The Sting". The only guys in the club with short hair were us and we stood out like a poop in a punchbowl.

Years ago I had a co worker... a 6'4 400lb black dude named Tony who was a metal head.... we called him heavy metal. We would laugh alot and even went down to new Orleans together. This song came on and he told me he never liked the bee gees but he really liked this song bcz of the killer bassline. Although I appreciated that he liked this one, I remember never quite looking at him the same again. Shortly after that was the last time i would see him. Heavy would die just after the calendar flipped to 2000. I miss our laughs.

I want a time machine to go back to the 70's. Coming of age in that decade was magical. Nothing will ever be like the decade; squeezed between the turbulent 60's and start of the greedy fast paced me, me me 80's was a slow, sweet, magical decade filled with the most amazing music from pop to disco to timeless Southern rock. When weed was always organic and a nickel bag was 5 bucks, keg parties, star wars, Farrah hairstyle, A Star Is Born, roller skating, manners and respect to our elders, bike riding, muscle cars, letter jackets, ahhh.....sweet, sweet memories. My heaven is being forever in the 70's. If you missed it, you'll never understand it's magic.

With the exception of Lennon and McCartny, the brothers gibb are greatest songwriters in pop history. The results speak for themselves . When you add the songs they wrote and produced for othes, like Andy, Samantha Sang, Dolly and Kenny and the interpolations and samples of their tunes…. I don’t see how anyone is better or more successful …just my humble opinion

Shocked this was filmed in Florida, I thought it was Las Vegas. In the 80's when no one showed them love Michael Jackson always praised their songwriting. Glad Disco got respect in the 1990's.

Really really really makes me sad that they are all deceased except beautiful Barry. Died way too soon. They were so unique and brought joy to millions. There is a great interview with Barry Gibb here on RU-vid where he talks about them. Heart crushing.
