Bee gees have a massive numbers of fans around the world...this is the reason everyone who reacts to music wants to react to them , lot of likes and subscribers go after that
The Bee Gees are musical geniuses and I cannot believe there are people who have not heard of them. Only one of the three is living today but please, young people, listen to the music from the late 70s to 80s... Though there are legendary bands earlier, that is the period when the best and most original music was at its peak. I am talking unrivaled, today's commercial music simply does not hold a handle to bands like the Bee Gees. All analog, no auto-tune, real artists.
Completely agree with you....but as for the Bee Gees, they go back from mid 60's until early 2000's when Maurice passed. But you're right, such great music during the period you mentioned!🎼
The Bee Gees write and sing music that stirs your emotions. They are a special and unique group with out of this world harmonies. Please react to HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE, one of the most beautiful love songs and fantastic harmonies. Great reaction, thank you.
"I could not love you more", The only love", "Will you still love me tomorrow", "Love so right". Those should get you home after a workout ;) And BTW, those aren't skinny jeans, they are bell bottoms. Skinny jeans weren't around then unless a person was part of a punk rock band.
This song is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.
You are so on point with everything that you said about the Bee Gees! Unique and beautiful harmonies. This song really makes you calm, happy, and hopeful. Their lyrics are so deep and touch the soul!
Bee Gees: 9 #1 songs, 15 in the top 10. Career of 50 years, They were born in the U.K. and rank 7th in sales in the U.K. groups of all time. They begen as pop/rock and roll in the 1960s , then became the best knon Disco Perormers. They wrote almost all their own music.
Prepare yourself, and your heart, for the rabbit hole of ALL rabbit holes! 😉 Older brother, Barry, and fraternal twins Robin, left, and Maurice, right, U K, Australia, back to U K , performed from 1958 to 2003 with Maurice's death. Barry has been married to his wife, Linda, since Sept. 1970, so he's walked the love song talk. Try 'How Deep Is Your Love', for a sample of their lower voices.
One take, no auto tune (wasn't around back then) and no pitch correct just their natural voices and harmonizing. This song was done in Barry's falsetto which he discovered by accident and Robin and Maurice have an amazing vocal range as well. They donated all the profits of this song to Unicef. Check out any of their other songs. They are amazing song writers and singers, musicians and do all the arrangements of their songs as well. They've written over 1,000 songs and some for others like Barbara Streisand, Dion Warwick, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers to name a few. Check out any of their other songs, both old and new. Sadly Barry, the lead is the oldest and the only brother alive today. Maurice died in 2003 and Robin (his twin) died in 2012.
Yes it's the "Too" around 6.26.. Thrilling.! As much as I love Barry's lead, the more I listen to this, the more I hear how brilliant the back up harmonies are.
Thanks, Hannahh - you probably know many BG's songs, that you don't know that you know... (no smoother and better harmony than that among brothers) I appreciate your willingness to explore.... look forward to more from you...
@@rachet0708 I don't think that you can live for 20 years without having heard a Bee Gee song some where. It's kind of impossible if you like music at all.
For Me Personally I was lucky Enough to see these Gentlemen in concert before both of the Brothers Passed !!! ( RIP ). Their Music is Legendary with A Massive list of Hits here Are Just A Few of My personal Favorite songs From them 1) I Started A Joke 2) Words 3) How Deep is your love 4) Tragedy 5) How Do you mend A Broken Heart 6) more then A Woman 7) you should be Dancing 8 ) Jive Talking 9) night Fever 10) Nights on Broadway Note the Performed with female Artists As Well 1) Samantha Sang ( Emotion ) 2) Evonne Elliman ( If I can't Have you ) 3) Barbra Striesand as well. Killing me softly was by Roberta Flack
I miss them too, Barry was last and writing til died, everyone forgets Andy lol, can't imagine if didn't get roped into Hollywood? But yea amazing talent in the blood, wrote more hits for artists than they had, only ones to have 2 #1 soundtracks Saturday night fever and grease, did another but can't remember lol
@5:00, when Barry begins "When you are to me...", Robin reacts with a bit of surprise a second later. Barry had gone off-key there, and Robin reacted to it. He's like, "Yeah, all right, then, bro." Anyway, it's simply an observation.
Oh, the hair is great! Barry (the one in the middle) was known for his "lion's mane" of hair. He is wearing a long shag, and I love it! My granddaughter got her hair cut into a modified shag and people at her high school started copying her. The styles in the 1970s were called "uni-sex" back then, and the shoes, hair could be for either one.
There was something more romantic, more gentleman like about these older songs. This is a song for when things get 🔥 but it doesn't say about getting it on. To me that's more class than today's songs about getting to it
Two other songs to check out from the Bee Gees is To Love Somebody. I believe it came out in 1968, and their song from 1997 Alone. Also check out How Deep Is You Love if you like this song.
@Hannahh You know what sadly, Barry Gibb the lead singer of the Bee Gees is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first in 1988. Maurice Gibb passed away in 2003 then his fraternal twin brother Robin Gibb passed away in 2012 leaving only Barry and his older sister Lesley Gibb. Check out younger brother Andy Gibb and a great song called (Don't Throw It All Away), released in 1978 for his Shadow Dancing Album. This song was co-written by his brother Barry Gibb & Blue Weaver and recorded by the Bee Gess in 1977. The brothers actually gave Andy the song for his 1978 album and later released their similar version of the song in 1979 for their greatest hits album.
They have written over 1000 songs, some for them and some for other performers! The one in the middle is the eldest of the three brothers and is the only one still alive he will be 77 in September 2023 and he still has long hair! Also he’s been married to the same woman since 1970 and they are more in love than when they began! They may have written the song you are talking about!
Just one of many styles and genres they mastered through their 50+ year career. I say bring back the beautiful hair style! Try "To Love Somebody" or "Massachusettes" from the early career, maybe "Nights on Broadway" or "Wind of Change" for mid career funk. Try "For Whom the Bell Tolls" for a later career impressive Robin vocals. Maybe "Kiss of Life" for a upbeat rockier vibe. And "You Should Be Dancing" for the best of the disco era. If you really want to get crazy you can try "Odessa" or "Paper Mache", but be prepared for very different.
Bee Gees aka Brothers Gibb, besides wrote songs for their music, has written songs for other singers and musicians such as Barbara Streisand or Kenny Rogers - 1,000+ songs. Recently, Barry Gibb released new album called, Greenfields. Greenfields is an album with all well-known Bee Gees songs sung in a country twist by Barry and singers of country music.
Like that you picked up when they sang "too" much love and raised their voices on that word in the 2nd half of the song. Not many people pay attention to that.
all 3 could sing in normal chest voice , vibrato and of course falsetto...in the song Fanny (be tender) they even threw in the kitchen sink of performances
The Bee Gees moved to Miami to record in the 70's from dreary wet England. Barry Gibb soon discovered Kine Bud and Mickey Mouse and the rest is history.
Hannah, that was actually the LIVE studio recording of that song. What a studio, huh? A live orchestra, plants, furniture. At the end of the video you can see the window in the back where 2 people are seated in the control booth. VERY, VERY UNIQUE!
Barry Gibb, the singer in the center, sang this song virtually the entire time in the FALSETTO range. His brothers are twins and sadly have both passed on. The singer on the left is Robin Gibb and his range is high as well. The true delight is when the three of them harmonize as they did in this song. Their harmonies are certainly some of the best I have ever heard. They came on my radar screen when they were nvolved with the movie " Saturday Night Fever " which was disco of course.
The tight pants were okay except under two conditions. Being rubbing close to your date and/or riding a motorcycle. This song is a masterpiece, you can see the BeeGees trying to be patient along the way as they nailed it.
When I was younger back in the 70s when this song came out there was a little thing going around about their Jeans were to tight that was how they reached such high pitched sound but I have always enjoyed their music 1978 was a great year
The Bee Gee are one of the Greatest groups of ALL time look it up. Look it up I'm not exaggerating. Billboard: Bee Gees Rank Third Among Groups for Most Hot 100 No. 1s in History. By the way Killing Me Softly is Roberta Flack.
YOU MY DEAR, ARE THE FIRST WOMAN TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS, TIGHT TEANS AND BULGE. I AM NOT GAY, BUT WONDERED HOW THE WOMEN WERE REACTING TO THAT VISUAL REALITY.
You missed the "Spirit" and depth of the song. There's more to this song than a piece by piece breakdown of the "Way" they performed it. Sad and Lonely- but Hopefull and full of love. Listen again without pausing or talking. Enjoy!
Ah yes. The 70's and 80's when if you couldn't count the change in your pocket from the outside then your jeans weren't tight enough. Those weren't skinny jeans just really tight...lol.
You could do a Bee Gees gym playlist. Stayin Alive, you should be dancing, tragedy for the work out, then this one on a loop for the wind down. Just subbed. Good content, but no one sounds like the Bee Gees, even the tribute bands who are trying really hard to do so. Closest is Dave Grohls Dee Gees tribute album on his Foo Fighters Hail Satin (that's satin the cloth not the fellow with the pitchfork and horns) 🤣🤣🤣😜
Story is too long lol, the Gibb brothers are pure talent, even younger brother Andy who went the Hollywood route and died young, but have blessed so many famous artists, wrote more hits than anyone, only one to write 2 #1 soundtracks, Saturday night live and grease, could write forever, tyvm. It's his falsetto voice , this was before any studio tricks or lip syncing, they did this live on interviews Acapella, it's incredible talent, name any major artist since 70's they wrote songs, Barry was with same woman since high school, married 55+ years until he was last brother to pass, he wrote songs until death. There will be a movie lol
I don't know why a lotta you reactors try to overcomplicate thing's when you can just simply say this is the best damn sanging 🎤 and music 🎵🎶🎤 you ever heard, which it is !!!!!! Don't make things hard on yourself or your listeners,...just say it's Great, Dynamic, Legendary sounds, Legendary singing group without all the extra ,confusing thoughts and that all need to be said!!! 😅
Berry and one of the twins, I forget which, wrote around 400 songs between the two of them. The other twin wrote too but not as much. (or so I heard) The real impressive thing is that of a 30 years period, I don't know the exact start and stop, there was never a year where a song written by one of them wasn't in the top ten on the charts. The wrote music for names like Dolly Parton and...I'm drawing a blank now but a lot of music by famous artists was written by one of these guys.
If you're looking for some mellow suggestions you should check out some groups like Kansas, Air Supply, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Seals and Crofts.
Next time try to listen to the words. Please. These days they do not play very many romantic love songs anymore unless they are from the past. Thank you. And please play "How deep is your Love". Also by The Bee Gees.
Singer in the middle is Barry Gibb, Andy's older brother. Barry stated that his younger brother, Andy as "his younger twin." During an interview, Lone Bee Gee, Barry demonstrated falsetto to interviewer.
