I would like to advise you, not to strain chawal in plastic colander. The plastic chemicals may leach onto the rice as a result of the hot water. Use our desi stainless steel colander instead, it's better. Also avoid using rubber or latex gloves and utensils; they aren't as safe as wood or stainless steel. Don't follow the western cooking channels who use gloves, there are definitely factory residues on these things. A washed and cleaned hand is way better than these products.
