Beef, I am pretty sure most of the time those Dark Oak tree's aren't always that tall so it can still look good with those. Anyways what I think you should do is make like a nature roof just put both new trees and flower up there for colour and diversity. Thanks beef!

Beef, if you're going to use the trees, go with the Acacia, it fits a little nicer with the colors of the wood, leaves, and the lilypad. There IS a solution to the carpet problem, though. Under the carpet, place slabs around the glowstone.

Layer leaves on top in a sort of dome or plant the trees on top and make staircases up them to make little treehouses. You could put enchanting and brewing in them.

Personally, I think it'd look really cool with the acacia, especially if you put glowstone either in the leaves or in the trunk. Maybe you could make it a little higher toward the back and plant the trees there too. It'd look like a bountiful wave, which I think would really suit the rest of the theme of the lilypad.

Put hedges on the rim of your home and put a fountain in the middle. Then put trees surrounding the fountain

Hey beef!! I think you should put one or two dark green rows of carpet around the outside and then plant three dark oak saplings, one in the middle, and one on both sides. Then you can plant a couple of acacia saplings in the middle of the dark oaks. The extra space you have you can fill with like green wool

Hey Beef! For lighting, you could try using redstone lamps instead of glowstone since they might look better with the lily pad and you wouldnt have to worry about covering them up. Also, you could also use peonys for your flower beds because they're 2 blocks tall as well. Keep making good vids!

I think you should build your own trees, lower than those in the vid. Some bushes and small flowers on the ground. Hide the dirtblock with smoothstone-stairs around the edge. Great vid though! :)

You can force dark oak trees and acacia trees to grow shorter. Acacia trees would look better in my opinion. Try 2x2 spruce trees, they look pretty cool now that they are in the game.

A idea! Write VintageBeef in light green carpet on the roof and fill in the rest with dark green carpet OR.... Place brown and white carpet as a steak and fill in the rest with yellow carpet, to make people know that its VintageBeef's place!

I like the variety of the different trees. I think it'd be cool if you left it like that and add another tree like the one on the right, and also have one on the left.

i think that you should have the roofed forest with cobble so that the trees won't grow so high. (the reason why it is so tall is because it is in the ocean biome.)

It looks pretty good if you have the one big brown tree in the middle and have a grey one symmetrical on each side

Random ideas for your Roof: netherbrick slabs/ blocks? It will be the only thing in your base with that color. Or use the acacia wood planks/slabs? Orange roof would brighten the place up and you do have a desert view. If you choose to do trees, then maybe just randomly place logs, leaves and glowstone. (Then it might look like a lit up christmas tree :/)

idk if it would be too tall for what you want but you could put another row of the stone slabs around the top and then put the carpet on top of those so that way you don't see through the whole roof looking from a distance

Hey beef, make the top of your house a roofgarden, I think that'll look great, maybe some benches to enjoy a nice sunset on. I think the acacias are a better match, although not all dark oak trees grow as tall as the one you planted.

you should have the tall flowers in the contained areas where they are currently, then have the small flowers on the ground where you have the tall grass.

Either use a small tree, or make jungle-like bushes for your roof. I like the idea of the green on your roof, but it shouldn't be as tall as a fully-grown tree.

Don't forget about peonies, beef! also, I like the acacias more.

Beef, put stone slabs around where the glow stone is on your roof that way you can put the carpet but you won't see the glow stone.

I think a thin canopy from the Acacia trees would look great :D They don't have thick greens like the other trees

Beef for your intro don't you think you should have Beatrice's gravestone visible under water or at least have some sort a tribute her in your intro with the cow in the boat

You could put a daylight sensors on top of the glow stone otherwise u should leave it blank. And for the villagers u should put an invisible wall with fences.

With the trees you could grow the trees, replace the dirt with logs.

Triple slab the top around the perimeter of the building. Then backfill with dirt, and plant acacias.

I think you should try leaves on the roof maybe like little patches kinda how the Acacia trees are. or lily pads made out of leaves on the roof.

Beef, mobs don't naturally spawn on transparent blocks like glass. Check Xisuma's videos on mob spawning mechanics.

You should make a red carpet and hide glow stone every 6 blocks to keep it lit up :) That's what I do and it keeps mob from spawning in that area. But you can do it everywhere lol

Leave the glowstone exposed. Looks so much nicer than the carpet on top

Hey beef you should make lamp post lights using glow stone to light your entrance to your house.
