Beef Tongue in Slow Cooker is not a favorite of mine BUT it’s a favorite of my hubby’s. A few months back we purchased a 1/4 cow and our bundle included; beef liver, beef tongue and beef heart, all of which I don’t eat. I have never acquired a taste of organ meat. My hubby on the other hand, has. Organ meats are relatively inexpensive, so if organ meats are your thing, go for it! #easy #easyrecipe #youtubefood #myyoutuberecipe #beeftongue #slowcookerrecipe #cooking #familyfriendly #budgetfriendly #recipe #recipeoftheday #recipevideo #kidfriendly #baked #youtubefood #baking #inthekitchenwithlynn

Educational! It looks like tender delicious meat! I feel intrigued to buy a beef tongue now and make a delicious soup with it.

I wonder if putting meat chunks in freezer bags with the broth would enhance the flavor and/or juiciness??
@inthekitchenwithlynn
@inthekitchenwithlynn 3 месяца назад
I might! The juices would act like a marinade, keeping the meat moist.

Osvaldo, next time make your own seasoning blend instead of buying that stuff that has toxic ingredients in it. Just buy individual organic spices and put a little bit of everything together in a jar.

Shred the meat with some forks . Add it on a warm tortilla with some cilantro , dice onions & squeeze some lime over it 😋 & you’ll have yourself some “tacos de barbacoa”

Oh that sounds delicious! I’ll have to try that, thanks! Lynn

Instead of using that seasoning that has bad ingredients; sugar, modified corn starch, yeast extract (MSG), sunflower oil (𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆). ALL Toxic ingredients (𝒔𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆; 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔, 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒍𝒛𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒓'𝒔.), you can just use your own spices: ‣ *pink Himalayan salt* (𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒄 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒅𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒔), ‣ *paprika* ‣ *chili powder* ‣ *cumin* (optional) ‣ *pepper* ‣ *lemon zest* (from a real lemon) ‣ *garlic powder* ‣ *onion powder* *Voilà!* You just made your own spice blend. Just make sure those individual spices that you buy are organic and clean without any added ingredients. Your brain and body will thank you! 👍🏼 By the way, I'm Mexican so I cook this kind of meat. You did a great job! 👍🏼👏🏼 Except for that seasoning. 😆😊 Just make your own seasoning blend and put it in a jar to make it easy for next time and for every time you cook and want to use those same spices. 😊 Oh, do not add the lemon zest in the jar with the rest of the spices. Do the lemon zest fresh each time. Or you can just eliminate it altogether if you don't want it. That spice blend that you used has lemon in it though. Oh, forgot to mention that I peel the skin while it's hot but not directly after taking it out. I wait about a minute or two. Mexican hands are used to the heat! 🤣

Thank you so much for your information comment:) That’s one of my favorite things about cooking, cooks passing their knowledge on to others. MSG is know to cause inflammation and I try to stay away from using products that contain MSG. (Didn’t realize all seed oils cause inflammation) If you have any favorite Mexican recipes, I’d love to share them here on my channel:) My hubby loves anything 🥵 Thank you again! Lynn

@@inthekitchenwithlynn Hi Lynn, 👋🏼 nice to meet you. 🙏🏼❤️ I really don't cook recipes anymore. I've been a Carnivore for about 7 months now. Before that, Keto/low carb for about 6 months. But for decades, I've read labels for bad ingredients, did not eat processed foods, didn't use seed oils. I have always eaten meat. I have never eaten anything marked "Low Fat" or eaten from a box marked "Diet." List of Seed oils: Canola oil, Vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, Soybean oil, Sunflower oil, Safflower oil, Mazola, Crisco, margarine, etc. They all cause inflammation and inflammation damages the mitochondria which can then lead to cancer and other metabolic diseases. I thought that vegetables were healthy. I thought lentils were also healthy. I thought steel cut oats were healthy too. But, boy was I wrong about all that stuff! Vegetables, oats, and grains, and bread, even whole wheat bread, are 𝙣𝙤𝙩 healthy at all. I used to also use olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil. But I don't use those oils anymore. I mainly eat fatty red meat! I love ribeye steaks! 😋 I also eat pasture raised eggs, fish (mainly salmon), fatty ground beef (80-20), and some bacon on occasion. To cook my meat and eggs, I use butter, ghee, beef tallow, and sometimes bacon fat IF I'm having bacon. I do not save my bacon grease though. I just use the bacon grease that I just got from cooking bacon and I use that right away to cook my eggs. But I also throw in some butter for that good butter flavor on my eggs. Yumm! 😋 I do not eat chicken anymore. Two reasons. Not fat enough. And Omega 6 which causes inflammation. No thank you! Pork is also high in Omega 6 which is why I only eat a little bit of bacon on occasion. I will not eat pork chops or pork tenderloin. My name's Sandra. 👋🏼🙏🏼❤️

@1Hope4All Boy Sandra, you sure know your stuff! I also did keto for several months and enjoyed it. Can you recommend a book or website that goes into more depth on what we should and shouldn’t eat and why? Thanks again for your knowledge on this subject:) I’ll have to start paying more attention.

@@inthekitchenwithlynn When I used to do keto, there were many drawbacks to that diet. Too many "keto snacks" and also that awful keto bread that I used to make. It was bad. Almonds by themselves, when eating a small handful are filled with oxalates. So can you imagine what 2 slices of keto bread made with almond flour has! A concentrated amount of many almonds in those 2 slices of bread which then contain an abundance of oxalates! No thank you! So I had to switch to Carnivore. But I wouldn't have switched if not for watching Kerry Mann from his HomesteadHow channel right here on RU-vid. I hope this comment doesn't get the boot from RU-vid! I would recommend a book or two but I'm afraid of this comment getting deleted. Do you have an email listed in the info section of this video or on your main channel page?

@@inthekitchenwithlynn I will name some channels for you to watch their videos and hopefully RU-vid will not delete my comment. ‣ KenDBerryMD (Author: "Lies My Doctor Told Me") ‣ Dr. Anthony Chaffee ‣ Dr. Tony Hampton (The Metabolic Doc) ‣ Dr. Shawn Baker ‣ Dr. Lisa Wiedemann CarnivoreDoctor (Optometrist) ‣ Dr. Elizabeth Bright ‣ Dr. Robert Cywes (Carb Addiction Doc) ‣ Neisha Berry (Nurse and wife of Dr. Ken Berry) ‣ HomeSteadHow (Creator of "Healing Humanity: The Power of a Proper Human Diet") ‣ Carnivore Today (Adam: Filmographer for "Healing Humanity" documentary still in progress) ‣ No Carb Life (Dave Mac @zerocarb: Interviews many carnivores who tell their healing stories on the Carnivore way of eating) There are many more Carnivore channels. I hope this comment sticks!
