BEEMAN P17 vs Umarex Ruger Mark iV 

The P17/Marksman 2004 is the best value in air pistols. Recoilless with a match grade trigger and adjustable sights add up to a real winner. I look for the older guns without the fiber optic front sight. Walmart had these guns. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago.

The P17 is a Single pump pneumatic and it has a much better trigger. The Ruger is a spring piston gun with all the vibration issues that go with that system, so it isn't an apples to apples comparison. The Buck Mark Vs. Ruger would be the fairest comparison, IMO. You should really do that trigger mod to both of the Umarex guns and remove the "Lawyer Extra Safe Safety Device" from the right hand side of the trigger group on the Ruger. It will make as big of a difference as the sear polish and spring change, which is mas bueno! Those parts act as a drop safety in the Ruger, but they are omitted in the Buck Mark. Go Figure? Ruger was the originator of the transfer bar safety in their Single Six revolvers, many moons ago, to prevent discharge upon dropping onto the hammer and allowing all six chambers to be loaded, so maybe it was a condition of granting the license to Umarex.

Nothing against your off hand shooting but wouldn’t the results be more consistent if you shot off a bag or rest?

Nice showdown but thats the winner I guessed because I know how accurate the p17 is with the right pellet. Its as accurate as it can be held. I have a p1 I haven't even shot yet but ld put my p17 up against it. Hmmmm..sounds like a nice project. 👍

Id take one of the Ruger plinkers too but I really like my P17! Close to a target pistol but with the plinker budget pricing 💯 {Talking about Nibs! I did a shooting challenge with him and "Real Airgun Adventures"using the p17 last week!}

Problem is that the Beeman is DAMN UGLY, like almost all break-barrel pistols. The Ruger mk4 looks WAAAAYY better.. actually it's only that Ruger and the Diana P5 looking good at that category, all the rest is incredibly ugly / unergonomic
