Fran, Man I love it. Oh I have so many IDEAS for this. The tire could not get a crip once they got wet. You already know that. I found two lawn tractor tires/rims and they hold air. I had to have my Trane motor/squirrel cage assembly replaced. The motor works. I do not know the HP off the top of my head. I would love to make it portable. I have and old metal dolly and 3 of the big back wheels some lawn mowers have. Time to build.....I got some fun ideas for this. THANKZ!
what I want to know is how you went from the bolt pattern of the tires to an axel? Right now I am looking for fatter, larger tires from the rear end of a lawn mower, but it's hard to find the type that have a rod going through them, rather than a bolt on attachment like a car does. (can I see it from the back?) I have 3x powerfull clutch motors that are very heavy and have tons of torque I could easily drive 2 large wheels at a lower speed with more power so cans could be feed constantly and several at a time.
+TheStarforce2 What looks like a bolt pattern is how the 2 halves of the rim connect. Those particular wheels I used already had the bearings in them, so I was able to mount them on 5/8 shafts I had. I like your idea of using lawn mower tires. I know those shafts are closer to 1". On my mower, the front tires are on a bearing and the rear drive tires are on a keyed shaft. Good luck
THE SOUND IS BECAUSE ONLY ONE WHEEL IS DRIVING IT AND THE SECOND WHEEL IS PRESSED HARD AGAINST IT. SO THAT NOISE IS THE EQUIVALENT OF TWO TIRES ON THE ROAD MINUS THE ROAD. IF HE PULLED ONE BACK TO WHERE IT WAS BARLEY NOT TOUCHING AND MADE A CHAIN DRIVE TO EAVENLY POWER BOTH WHEELS IT WOULD MOST LIKELY QUIET DOWN
+Ed Ginsberg That is a great idea. I think they would crush the cans flatter. Hopefully they will be able to "grab" the cans. I need to take another look at different tires or crushers. Thanks for the idea.
Can you make a can crusher that can Crush all kinds of different size cans for the apartment life people for in the kitchen that you can just plug it into the outlet and and then when you're ready to smash your 10 and toss them in the your recyclable container to get ready to cash them in that would be great if you can make something like that for the apartment life people to have can crusher in their kitchen for the apartment life people right now I'm making my own can crusher out of a cane a square ice cream container and one filled up with cement that's just temporary until someone comes up with it can crusher for your apartment life people and it don't have to make so much noise either guess some people in the apartment life they might like doing that recycle their cans for cash like me I got a little bit bigger apartment than my old apartment but since I've been doing my cans again I've been rinsing them out so I don't have fruit fly or any other kind of little insect that might like to have a party I rinse my cans out but please try to make one for the apartment life people I live on the south side of Indianapolis Indiana
Half flat cans ! So its not a crusher its a bender like the one you are on .if you think anyone will buy a can bender. Sell them for 1\2 off sense they work 1\2 ass
Not very good. Too dangerous, no protections, too fast wheels, crush size is average not small, too complex, too dangerous. Now don't get your nice new blue T-shirt near one of those fast rotating wheels (oh, wrong tire treads too, flat is better).
