Beet Juice
Beets are a nutrient-rich vegetable containing minerals like potassium, sodium, and calcium, as well as B vitamins (niacin and pantothenic acid) and dietary fiber. Additionally, the red pigment in beets, called betacyanin, is a type of polyphenol with strong antioxidant properties, believed to help prevent cancer.
Furthermore, beets offer various health benefits. The nitrates in beets convert to nitric oxide in the body, which helps to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure. This nitrate effect also improves oxygen efficiency during exercise, enhancing endurance. Betaines in beets support liver health and help prevent fatty liver. Additionally, the high fiber content in beets promotes digestion and supports a healthy gut.
Beets have a unique flavor and slight earthiness. Therefore, in this beet juice recipe, lemon juice and honey are added to make it more palatable. Consuming beets raw in this juice also allows you to benefit from their enzymes.
Ingredients
- Beets: 100g
- Carrots: 100g
- Lemon juice: 25cc
- Honey: 25cc
- Water: 250cc
Instructions
1. Cut the beets and carrots into sizes that fit into the blender.
2. Add the beets, carrots, honey, lemon juice, and water to the blender, and blend until smooth.
