I am convinced that this was not written for humans, but rather is a direct conversation between Beethoven and the Godhead. For that reason its beauty is fresh and inexhaustible for we humans.
The music has a healing quality to it, a resolution that comes after having gone through a struggle and anguish perhaps. There is a different level of acceptance and even joy and gratefulness.
Fully agree with many views of here. This Beethoven's chamber piece surely it's one of the most ethereal works ever composed. Music full of grace. A luminous Beethoven. Thank you for upload this great performance!
@@jonathanhenderson9422 suppose to be accurate he had to say 'as good as drugs', which might be true, since the levels of dopamine released can be quite similar. 'Better than' makes no sense in a narrow definition of pleasure as chemicals. Not that I endorse that. I'd go with Will Brown on this one.
@@Promethalus I was replying to sam who had claimed that "drugs destroy you." I was disagreeing with him and agreeing with Will Brown. Also, fyi, dopamine isn't a feel-good chemical; it's a "pay attention, you're about to feel good" chemical.
What wonderful artists. Dare I express an opinion? After repeated and admiring hearings I have come to the realization that I would be happier without the "non vibrato" technique, which is liberally applied in the slow sections.
Yes! But it works. I've never heard it this fast and I feel like I learned some things, which to me is the best sign. I'm more disappointed with the way the energy dissipates between sforzandos starting around 12:45. But they still make a good case.
When was this performed ? The Alban Berg quartet ceased to exist in 2007. IMHO far superior to the Borodin quartet. More articulate. Subtler. Who shares that opinion ? Who thinks otherwise ? Comments appreciated.
