I’m not sure if it’s because it’s not dry on the video, but I’d advise holding the can a fair bit further away and applying two coats of black to even it out, then top it off with three coats of clear coat since as it’s a roof box and will deal with use and abuse.
Patio now has overspray lines, your lungs took a hit of acrylic, neighbours cars covered in overspray, finish looks dreadful......apart from that Top Job 😆👍
Is it smooth? Even though you sanded, still looks like a lot of texture left. Would bondo or extra sanding (perhaps with orbital) be better? Other than that, looks much better … and nice merc to go with it :)
Good video, FYI the first step should always be cleaning. Otherwise you run the risk of getting wax, oils etc deep into the plastics which can be much harder to get out later. Your poor patio lol why didn't you put down paper?
Thanks John. Yeah you're right. I was rushing around doing a quick job. Guess if I took my time a little it would have been a much nicer finish. Oh well, it's ok for now and gives me a chance to redo it at some point! Dont ask about the patio, dad wasn't impressed with me! Lol
