Welcome to another episode of DIY Mountain Bike! Today, we're diving into one of the simplest yet most impactful upgrades you can make to your e-bike: installing a SUNTOUR NCX Suspension Seat Post. This upgrade is all about enhancing your ride's comfort, especially on rough terrain.
In this video, I walk you through the entire process-from ordering the correct seat post size and necessary adapters to installation and real-world testing. Despite only being available in a 27.2mm diameter, with the right shim, this seat post can fit almost any bike, as I demonstrate with my own e-bike requiring a 30.4 to 27.2 shim.

You're the second person to say this. I need to think about making another video. All suspension seatposts raise the saddle a little. I haven't tried it, but have heard good stuff about the Cloud 9. - cloud-9.bike/collections/cloud-9-saddles-and-covers/products/cruiser-sofa

I had no idea about the shim so that was good to know before buying! Is it not annoying that this post pulls you away from the handlebars making your reach longer?

I thought it would bother me, but I really don't notice it. The other thing to note is, if you ride with the seatpost really low, this raises it.

But it will raise your seat 4 inches no ?

The suspension post does raise the minimum seat position. If you like the seat in the lowest spot this won't help. Any alternate is to find a seat with actual springs built into them. It won't be as comfy as this post, but can improve your ride. 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️ Keep Pedaling!
