I could have sworn the owner decides what to do. I usually put a hair tie to get all that out of the way for my farrier. I personally love "feathers" on their feet, like Fresians, so I learned how to keep them out of the way. I've also never trimmed the hair around the "coronet?" as their hooves did not have an injury there or some other disease. It looks like this horse has a problem with their sole and/or frog. I've seen this type used before and sometimes it's filled with a liquid that hardens to the shape of the hoof and will cushion this area and I can't remember what this process called ! 🤔 I no longer have horses but I live vicariously thru these videos, love the familiar sound and rhythm, very relaxing for me.
