I had the Odyssey 2. Despite the blocky, low-res graphics, some of the games were still quite fun. KC Munchkin, UFO, and Pickaxe Pete were particular favorites. It's my understanding that all the Magnavox released titles were programmed by ONE guy. Most impressive.

I had the Fairchild Channel F before getting a Mattel Intellivision. Had a lot of fun with the Fairchild, and it introduced me to video games!

I owned the original Odyssey. Well my dad did but he got it for me in mind. I also owned the triangle Telstar game system but that was years later when a local store chain went out of business and was selling out their inventory. Got it for $5 and several games for $1. That was the early-mid 80s so I guess they had a stack of them in some store room and never brought them out.

I remember Odd Lots had OEM (sealed in clear plastic) Colecovision consoles (no pack in game) for $10 during the crash.

I got an Coleco Telstar for Christmas of '76. It played variations of Pong. That same Christmas I got an imported and refurbished Pachinko machine.

Really glad you like them, this is actually a new video though, I already uploaded all old "Story of" videos last year.

My first console was the Channel F. It broke down twice. At the time I was told it was static electricity, but now research shows it most likely overheated. All consoles after I made sure I did not lay it on a rug. HA! I loved playing the Videocart #3 Space War game.

Damn, this is a great bloody channel lad. My father purchased a Pong ripoff in 1977. Even at the tender age of 15, I knew that more certainly had to be possible. A couple of years later I purchased the original 2600 asked never looked back until recently thanks, in part, to this channel. Big thanks lad.

Personally the RCA Studio 2 is unique when you realize the sound chip sounds like a rubber chicken. Gives it some personality.

Learned a lot from this, I wasn't really familiar with any of them. That said none of them look thar fun to play, so I don't feel like I missed out.

Myself and my mate at the time both had an Acetronic console. I'd go round his house with some of my cartridges to play on his tele, as his parents tended to listen to the radio in the other room.

All my friends were getting 2600's, I begged my dad to get me one. Got me a Fairchild. Straight to the old folks home when the time comes.

I always wonder how could it be that most consoles before that atari 2600 including pong consoles, all did had an 8Bit cpu,how could it be that no game system started with a 4bit cpu?? Also why is it that other 8bit cpu’s are better then others or just contained more features?? am mean they were all just 8bits, Also how could it be that the last 8bit generation systems were such huge generation apart from early 8bit systems??? I know that graphics chips, soundchips and the amount of ram & rom also did play a rule in this but still, this is just insane.
