To Achara : Their are number of laws in India which has been misused against men

Context : Deepika Bharadwaj is a Men's Rights Activist. She had a tragic event in her life. Her Sister-in-law filed false cases against her brother and while fighting the case she found out that Indian laws are biased towards women. And they are misused. Especially Rape laws and Domestic Violence laws. These cases can easily destroy the man's life and even his family. They may have to fight the cases for years. And even when they prove the cases were false, women mostly are not prosecuted. And accusations such as rape may even lead men to suicide. She had made 2 documentaries on the misuse of these laws. 'India's Sons' on Fake Rape Cases and 'Martyrs of Marriage' on Fake Domestic Violence Cases.

Asking: "Are you going to live with my parents" won't work. Because guys WANT that only. But people are forgetting that MOST women don't plan on living separately from the start. So, they should also question: "If your parents are belitting me, causing problems unnecessarily and insulting every time even behind your back, how will you solve that issue or will you be willing to move out?" I have seen it happening so many times that the in-laws create unnecessary trouble, with no apparent reason. And when it comes to their parents, men denies it and the whole blame for 'trying to break the families' falls on the bride. Even if initially the guy would have said "I will do the rightful thing and make sure nobody harms you, even if it means living separately", when faced with the actual situation the guy answers, "You are bluffing. My parents cannot do these things. It was your intentions from the start" and let the girls suffer in their marriage.

What Kristen said, is exactly what I have lived by since my early 20s. And hope this is definitely understood as soon as possible by more people for a better peaceful life. Have also seen, gals/guys after 30s realise it more on those points.😊

lol after sleeping in their 20s that girl wants someone to settle down with her. The pattern of sleeping with athletes, rappers etc n then settling or trapping and manipulating simple traditional guys in marriage is just ridiculous. Divorcing them n taking money is just normal thing in west n now it’s normalising in india also.

One thing Kristen said was really good....if people find their love in early 20s they are less damaged so they grow together but when people reach in 30s they have been into multiple relationships and they hurt and become rigid which makes them very hard to settle down...!!

I think if you want to have a conversation on what you feel about what is being discussed in the podcast, you should probably watch the full podcast and not just react to a snippet of the video... It is a serious topic being discussed and I think it is important to understand how the conversation arrived at this particular question and how it evolved to the next question...

Kristen - it is great that you clarify intentions before dating. In India, if you say intend to marry, have a physical relationship with the woman but break-up later for any reason, then the girl can file a rape complaint against you. There is a regressive law that states that having physical relations with a girl on the false promise of marriage is rape. It is regressive because it assumes that girls do not have the capability to give consent for being in a physical relationship. Then even if the court determines that the charge was false and consent was mutual, one can get acquitted but not without spending sometime in jail and destroying his life. So if you do say at the begining of dating that you are looking to get married and then get involved physically, then as a guy you cannot break-up even if you later find compatibility issues. There is no walking away then!

I think she hit the nail on the head, talking about all the people online complaining about how unsafe it is for them to interact with the opposite side. We are different, there are no two ways about it. Even if you consider all men and all women, there are significant differences in how we think and operate. Chances of you being caught in a no win situation happens no matter how much you try to avoid it. Closing yourself off from the rest of the world is never a good or healthy option. We aren't built to be solitary. We learn from each other. Our mind is complex and I feel we have generally gotten better at being able to understand our emotions, but it has been baby steps. We are so easily shaped by everything that surrounds us. I feel when talking about this, we should be able to be open and listen to different perspectives whilst also feeling like your perspective is being heard. It's not men vs women, it's not good vs evil. It is never that black and white. Don't let twitter or online discourse influence your opinions because nothing good comes out of it. Internet has this nature to amplify a thousand fold all the extremes and rarely ever is nuance or context ever considered. Girl talks about their struggles, Hah woke trash! Guy talks about their struggles, bring out that small violin. We experience more trauma than you. Both of these are stupid ways to go about this. This weird pity olympics we engage in is absolutely dumb and I hope more people can see past that to see the incredible things we can bring into each other's lives

How sad and ironic is it that in western countries man and women are not traditional anymore and what i mean by that is not being progressive together but girls are in need of just fulfilment of their needs and wants where they are ready to leave all things away, this idea of personal liberty and independence means resources to start a family while for women, who are not even traditional anymore, for them it is a escape route, i have 12 of my female friends who have moved out of country at age of 28 and looking to marry a guy who they can live their lavish lifestyle with and at same age my priorities are to be with my parents, earn money so i can give them a good retirement, my parents asked me to get married soon, i don't tell them out loud but i might not marry, the laws in India are against men and women are not trustworthy anymore, it's just my personal stand so i am not inviting anyone to follow but if this stays same i am just curious will there be any further reason left for anybody to even get married, if pleasure and offsprings in future would not require our bodies anymore what do you think by 3050, will people even be left with emotions

I know what women want in a relationship at different stages of their life and career. But my problem is, I am not okay with that. I am not okay with being the 10th or the 50th person in their life just because at the age of 30 now they decide that they want a goal oriented, focused man... well guess what? India is on a whole other level when it comes to legal bias against men in marriages and divorce proceedings. In any case, Indian women will never signa prenup regardless as the laws prioritize them. This is legally done as women were disadvantaged in most cases with forced marriages, marital rape, and very orthodox methods across rural India. However, the law has not evolved since then. The law still sees men as providers, even if the woman out-earn the man. It still considers domestic abuse, rape, etc as something only a man can do.

India isn't a patriarchal society. Europe and US are patriarchal societies. Even with all the rise of wokeness, they are proper masculine, patriarchal societies. India is a longhouse. A longhouse, basically, is a covert matriarchal system in which the devouring wife archetype rules the household; everything happens according to her wishes. She takes the decisions for the young men of the house with an iron fist, and emotionally subverts the husband. These women dampen the risk-taking mentality and tramples on ambition to maintain the status-quo. A longhouse is impossible in a developed family and society, hence why ambitions are subconsciously destroyed to keep the middle-class intact. This is what Indian families are. The collective unconscious of India is fully possessed by the longhouse hence the constant naive romantic depiction of poverty and the unnecessary championing of middle-class grinding. All the alpha men that you see in society are effectively money minting workhorses who are allowed to be alphas outside by their wives for security and prosperity. Ultimately, however, it's the wife who gatekeeps and directs the family dynamics. Which relatives will be allowed, which won't be allowed, which friends of the husband will be allowed in home, whether the kid will be allowed to play cricket etc. Heck, whether a joint family will remain joined or will break apart in small pieces, is directed by the wives.
