🌍 Discover the epic journey of the first animals to emerge from the aquatic depths and colonize dry land, a major turning point in the history of evolution on Earth. This captivating documentary dives deep into the heart of prehistoric evolution, revealing how life took the monumental step from water to land, marking the beginning of the land animal era.
Through striking animations and reconstructions based on the latest scientific discoveries, we explore the challenges and surprising adaptations of these aquatic pioneers. Learn about the first vertebrates, the leggy fish that dared the impossible, and how this transition paved the way for the explosive diversification of life on land, leading to the emergence of dinosaurs, mammals and, ultimately, humankind.
Combining paleontology, evolution and marine biology, this documentary offers a unique perspective on one of the most crucial moments in natural history. Discover the survival strategies, genetic mutations and incredible physiological adaptations that enabled these animals to conquer new environments and thrive in radically different ecosystems. Dive into the past at the origins of terrestrial life, to explore the mysteries of evolution and the fascinating history of our planet.
🔥 As a reminder, videos are released on SUNDAYS at 9:00 pm.

💥The Great Exit from the Waters:
- Did you know that several hundred million years ago, all forms of life were concentrated solely in the aquatic environment and that dry land was totally uninhabited?
Today, life colonizes all terrestrial environments. Its traces can be seen on every continent and in every ocean. Whether on the highest peaks, in the most arid deserts, on the shores or in the abyss. Since the first traces of life appeared on Earth over 3.8 billion years ago, species have evolved. The mechanisms behind this evolution are becoming increasingly well known. The environment in which individuals live imposes conditions on the resources necessary for life, such as food and shelter. Environmental conditions are not always favorable to their development. Natural selection therefore comes into play. The best-adapted organisms are favored, and it has to be said that the strongest, biggest or most voracious are not necessarily the winners. They reproduce and pass on the genes and characteristics that enabled them to survive. The next generation is already endowed with these characteristics from the fittest organisms. This is how, over time, populations adapt to their environment through natural selection.
Different life forms are constantly confronted with events that modify environmental conditions. This has been the case with every major mass extinction. The path of life is thus strewn with periods of evolutionary radiation and extinctions. The groups of organisms in the reconquest are not necessarily those that dominated before.
However, the history of life has been marked by a far-reaching change. From its beginnings in the oceans, organisms gradually colonized dry land. But this colonization didn't happen overnight. It took several stages for life to become truly and permanently established outside the ocean depths. How did this extraordinary transition come about? What incredible challenges did these evolutionary pioneers have to overcome to achieve this migration?

I would just like to say that the first steps was not taken with an animal using it's legs. Once this half fish, half animal crawled out of the pordial soup, which we now call the ocean, they used side fins and crawled along the ground.

Life and water are unique to Our Planet. I'm sure life and whatever is unique to another Planet survives elsewhere . On things we cant even understand. Nor will ever reach to see. Atleast in our lifetime.
@amandamatheny3675
@amandamatheny3675 2 месяца назад
I partially, but mostly, agree with you. It's not unreasonable to look for life on planet with a similar structure to our own simply because we know that at least it worked for us and therefore it may work elsewhere, but you are certainly correct in stating that Life could very well develop on other planets and in other situations that we are not familiar with. For example, who is to say life needs an ocean to begin its proliferation in? Even if it does, there are planets with methane oceans instead of water oceans and perhaps their form of life can develop in that. We already know that a lot of single celled organisms are the most resilient on the planet, able to survive sometimes even in the vacuum of space, which would seem to indicate that these forms of life or something similar could develop in a much greater variety of environments than we give credit for. There is probably life on lots of other planets, just maybe not life as we perceive it or expect to find it.

how can a creature be more original than the last? I see two problems with this idea. Original, with the root word of origin, which means the beginning or the first of a kind, would support the older animals more than the newer version since they existed first. Additionally, even if a new species is totally different from a species which existed previously but was not in the same evolutionary line it might be considered original but it cannot be more original than another original species.
