At least 5 ex Amtrak P40s escaped the scrappers torch in Lordstown Ohio and are now being rebuilt and repainted in LTEX Rail colors. Units 801, 802, 803(renumbered 1803), 805, and 839. 805 was transferred to Wabtec Erie in Pennsylvania, while 801, 802, 803, and 839 were transferred to Wabtec Albia in Iowa.
Yes yes in double yes we need more of them like what is going on with those five Amtrak's in new cars and new railroads themes at least save them from being torched and cut up please help them please help them please !!!!!
The "VERY Seriously, and SADDENEST DAY in Railroad History's" 😢😢😢😢 What comes to See the Locomotives Get Stripped-Down in "Pieces" THEN They Get Cut-up Also in "Pieces Too" Instead of Seriously Sending some of them to the Railroad Museums for Displaying them to the public and How the Locomotives have taken care of Goods & Services to the public from the East Coast to the West Coast and North to the South "ALL OVER the Country 😊😊 !!!!??!?!?!
I remember seeing the UP genset switchers being on the cover of a bunch of new-hire paperwork when I started. “Engines of Change” sounded very exciting and optimistic, but they parked them at every opportunity. Moved a bunch of them dead-in-consist, I don’t think I ever saw one running.
I remember when the CSX Dash 8-40Cs and CWs were brand new and saw them in new car smell condition! I wouldn’t be surprised if those QNSL Dash 9s are rebuilt.
@@gregoryhainsworth2663 Hi Gregory. You are Correct. Funny thing is i think i spelt it correctly to start with but forgot to add to my Dictionary. Must have then been overridden in the system. Have a Great Xmas Day and New Years. Respectuffly John
Some times they can always get a new cab from one railroad graveyard to the rail shops like in Altoona pa where they work on them and they are always fixing up train locomotives there at anytime
Yeah, there is almost nothing left to give the idea of going to the tracks any mystery...there is no looking in the distance at the start of a mainline and wondering "what may be out there." Transfers in cities are boring now too. All the magic of railfaning is gone. it was all based on those wonderful EMDs of the 60s and 90s running around the rails. a time now lost.
Those locomotives are 25+ years old. They have been fully amortized and have no value. Their technology is obsolete. There is no second-hand market. They are most valuable for the scrap value of the pats and metals. Makes total sense.
Es correcto de hecho ya andan trabajando mi pais aquí un video donde se puede ver una trabajando con su nuevo esquema del FIT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gstZ8qlKmXE.htmlsi=3KhRqKaFFibBwXTA
i hope you grabbed that numberboard at 1:36. it'll be saved forever if you do, otherwise if you didn't get it would be thrown out to never be seen again.
Should be illegal 😤 What a waste! I fear the end is near for most GP38/39/40s/-2s soon as well with increasing epa regulations and fra loco lifetime regulations, too. . . You might even say that it's almost like watching steam going away all over again, but what are we even saying to stop it before it's all gone.
