I have used this exact mower for about a season and a half cutting my St. Augustin in Texas and I have ZERO complaints on this mower. No sputtering, cuts my grass perfect.
I have a 10 year old 6.5 hp Briggs Toro Personal Pace mover. Had to replace the ignition coil last year - $12 Amazon. I change the oil every year. Does not burn a drop.
Regarding sputter on model 21564: I see a response from Toro in the Home Depot Q/A. “A: Yes, we have partnered with our engine supplier, Briggs & Stratton, to resolve this issue with a new fuel tank and carburetor design verses the previous engine model. “ The response was from June 3 2023.
Last year, I couldn't decide which mower I wanted: the Toro SS 21564 or the Honda 217 HRX VKA. So I ended up buying both of them. Honestly, it makes mowing the lawn enjoyable. As for the engine surge in previous models. That issue was corrected with the 21564. From May to November 2022, I experienced no issues with the engine. But I also take care of all my engines to keep them at peak performance. Running a little Berryman B12 Chemtool through the engine once in a while keeps it running strong. This B&S 190cc is a powerhouse and had no trouble keeping up with the Honda 200cc in tall grass. The engine also has a nice growl when it shuts off.
Toro does sell their own engine on these things, and that it is the better option. You probably don’t know this but Honda is backing out of the lawn care industry. They’re converting the mower plant into a UTV plant. The GX series engines will still remain in production due to them being manufactured over at the plant in Thailand but everything else will be discontinued.
I'm pretty disappointed since when I bought Super Rec 2 or 3 years ago, that year they'd stopped offering the 190. I love that engine and my 7.2 or whatever could benefit from the extra power. Decent mower but I still prefer my old Snapper Hi Vac. It was much easier to maneuver around the yard and has a bullet proof drive train. I just wish the motor wasn't so old or that the new ones weren't so expensive.
Nice video review! I ordered the 163 cc version from Home Depot and waited 3 weeks for it to be delivered to the store only to find out that the stow away knobs were broken during shipment. Waited another 3 weeks for a replacement but that came in with a partially broken knob 🤦. I settled for a 150cc recycler that time and used it a couple times and was very impressed with the power but really wanted to the stow away feature so I returned it and will check out Ace Hardware for super recyclers.
I got my 21564 yesterday and used it for the first time today. First 10 minutes were great but once I got to the slopes, bumps (both are moderate) and tall grass in my yard it was major sputter city with each turn and pass 👎. I’ll try the spark plug booting trick and will be very curious to watch your follow-up videos after you’ve done a few mows. Good luck…
Any idea when you’ll be doing your maiden mow with it? I’m going to run mine again in a few days but in the interim I called a few local Toro authorized dealers and none of them have knowledge of the sputtering issue. It didn’t provide much confidence that there is a known fix.
@@JerryPertile Briggs & Stratton clams they updated the faulty carburetor for the 2022 model. I'm on my second season with this mower and experienced no sputtering issue. I even stored the mower over the winter with TruFuel still in the tank. It fired right up in the spring. Is yours still acting up?
@@4x4gear33 t Thanks for your comment. To answer your question, it’s “kind of” still sputtering. To clarify, my Briggs engine is a Jan 2023 build. I called a Diamond Star Briggs/Toro service center after mow #1 and asked if the sputtering is a known issue. They said no (which I found surprising) and told me to change the spark plug then run 1/4 tank of 50:1 TruFuel til it ran dry. A few days later I did mow #2 with TruFuel. It ran well 95% of the time but did sporadically sputter. I’m going to do mow #3 with unleaded 89 octane (10% ethanol blend) to see what happens. If I end up getting it serviced it’s a minimum 4-5 week turn time. Luckily I still have the mower that the 21564 is replacing.
Personal pace sucks, I had a toro snow thrower with personnel pace. It's not a smooth, consistent speed. I still prefer a go or stop, with a front wheel drive. Also, this mowers under deck is over designed. Cast aluminum deck is more brittle than stamped steel. Plus, this mower is heavy. I like toro mowers with simple practical design. I am brutal to my lawn mowers. Sticks, pine cones, wood chips I chop them all up. Eventually, I break them and buy another. But, they hold up well considering the abuse I send them to. Want to clean the bottom of the deck. Run over wood chips it will blast all the grass off without getting the deck wet. I use my tools hard. My mower is no exception. My advice is a simple design. Not even a self-propelled but a push. I'm older now, so I spoil myself with a self-propelled
How does this compare to the 163cc super recycler. Just got the 190cc after l ordered it a week ago and had to take it back because parts on the handle were cracked and the bars were not centered. The 163cc is in stock so I can see what I’m getting vs having to risk getting another faulty one.
Hey Chex! If you get one of the 163’s just make sure you change the oil once a season and run ethanol free gas in it. Cheaply made engines but can be fine if cared for! 👍
I have this in an older model #20095, bought it from a friend but its missing the battery charger only. I have the battery. I can't find the charger to buy at the online Toro company, and the ones at Amazon do not have good descriptions (i dont want to fry the battery with the wrong amps). I have the briggs 190 cc engine. I have manually pull started the mower but it doesn't always start in 2 pulls, it can take 5 sometimes (and im an old 65 yr old lady, I want the electric start to work). Any suggestions on which charger to buy? My local mower shop can order one for $50 but im pretty sure if i knew which one to buy, I can get one for about $25 on Amazon?
I have the 2019 model of this mower. Great mower with one major flaw. The carburetor. I'd be interested in knowing if the carburetor part # for this mower is different than mine. Would you be willing to tell me the part #?
@Garage Gear Awesome! If you have the engine model #, i should be able to compare parts. According to Toro, Briggs made changes to the carburetor and fuel tank to fix the surging issues that the previous models had.
Well…the honeymoon ended quickly. I got the mower in this video on Saturday. Mowing my front lawn was flawless and the learning curve for personal pace was maybe 30 seconds. But day 2 was the backyard and the wind was knocked out of my sails. My backyard has some bumps from tree roots. Almost time every I rolled over a tree root the engine balked like it wanted to stall out and then recovered. Here’s where Toro will tell my ethanol free gas that was 1 day old is the cause. For $800 I am not ruling out hauling it back to Home Depot.
@@jasondrewes long gone! I believe root cause was that it didn’t have the service bulletin applied that fixes the sputtering over bumps and also a puff of black smoke when starting. Despite it being shipped from Toro it had a build date of 2021.

I bought a brand new Toro self-propelled mower. The pull was incredibly hard and the only way I could get it to start was to engage the drive, which definitely isn't safe! Plus, it took off so fast I literally had to run behind it! I went on You Tube to see how to slow it down, then it wouldn't start again. I'm taking it back tomorrow. Really disgusted with it.
love my Honda but the thumb drive system is terrible ! I tried my neighbors Toro recycler with PP system and love it. With a minor push on the handle i was walking behind the mower.
Eh, I had a Toro Persona Pace Super Recycler back in the day and I wasn't much impressed with the Personal Pace system, as it just seemed iffy and the part that slides in was coarse in it's operation. I rather have the Honda HRX speed control lever. Overall, the Toro quality level lagged behind that of a Honda HRX.
@@GarageGear I did. From what I’ve heard the HRN216 have some issues and the HRX217 comes up at least 200$ pricier. I get the HRX217 would be a better choice?
@@kevinbelleau1570 hey Kevin! I’m willing to bet the Honda HRX217vka will outlast this mower and since their close in price I would say that’s the better of the two. I’ll probably be doing a comparison video in the coming weeks between the two.
Do you think I should pull the trigger on that Toro 190CC? I have a dealer that has it and was going to get it. I wanted to wait to see what you thought but people will probably buy them all lol 😂
Hey bud! I still haven’t had a chance to low with it yet. The lawn is slowly coming out of winter. I’ll be using it within the next two weeks. Then I’ll definitely know more. Did an engine break in and it ran fine this past weekend. Have you looked at Hondas too?
I hope Toro takes none of your opinions who care what it looks like! Also I repair all types of machinery and see a lot of mowers in the spring and the that is a different handle but I saw one last year thinking it was weird but after I moved it a couple times I liked it!
The handle still isn't low enough for me... looking to replace those rubber bumpers to see if I can get another couple inches down... Otherwise the mowers nice thanks for going over this model.
No side discharge option makes it functionally useless. "mulching" "recycling" or whatever you call it only works when your lawn is so short it does not really need to be mowed. When you need to mow...it'll bog down and stall. You'll cuss, clean it out, fight to get it started again and repeat. F. Toro. I registered mine and they don't send you the side discharge anymore. I need to say it again...F. Toro. It also wants to stall out on any tiny little bump. Just get a Honda, My old one from 10 years ago was a workhorse but these are junk now.
Home Depot have some leftovers, you should grab one. Still replacement parts available too. I'm considering to buy 2 set of wheels, bag, transmission belts, blade just in case

I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel fell off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.
Bought a new Toro super recycled and it is garbage. Only bought a Toro because you old Toro was greatfor20 plus years.....they have really lowered the quality of the products.Would never buy another Toro anything.
The Toro looks like a Honda. I’m buying a brand new Honda, their top of the line mower soon. I’m going to get the HRC216HXA with the Honda commercial grade engine. Going to do it before production finally ends. 😢
is this HRC216HXA really good for mulching? and from your research do the gears hold up?? for about 5 mo year I need to be at 4" mow height for personal use only but its my ;last self propel mower

@Garage Gear hey buddy, so it says 190 cc , isn't that bigger than ur common household mower. Usually I see 150 cc to like 163cc??? Just curious, thanks garage guy
JB, so check this out. This week, I ordered the 21564 from the Home Depot website. At the time I placed the order, they were showing 417 units available. The following day, I received an email from Home Depot apologizing that they'd have to refund my money and cancel my order, no explanation. Today, I visited with Customer Service at my local Home Depot to inquire about what happened. All they could offer was that the 21564 is "no longer available" at Home Depot. Next, I phoned Home Depot's national number to ask them the same. They told me a little more. They said that these units aren't stocked in the Home Depot warehouse but come from a "3rd party distributor," and that they must have been pulled for some reason and are no longer for sale. Any idea what's going on? Thanks, Steve
Hey AEAC! I recently heard that home depot is trying to go all electric by 2028 and are phasing out gas products. This may be the reason why! Thanks for sharing this!
So today, I phoned Home Depot Corporate and asked for a supervisor to explain what I was observing. They let me know that they are aware of the disappearing inventory situation and others have inquired too. They went on to say that the problem is a "logistics issue between the 3rd party vendor and Home Depot and within a few weeks, they should have it resolved." That's all they'd give me other than to reassure me that Home Depot will continue to carry this brand and specific model online. Steve
JB , my current Honda is 24 years old ,still going strong all these years . I’ve maintained it myself and never had a really serious issue. Kudos to Honda , I’m very concerned about their production halt and figured that’s when my Honda will die . I can’t wait to see your future reviews on this machine and hope you send or Toro watches you for future upgrades to Recycler 2.0. Thanks for the great job .
Going with the Honda...I'm fat..have back issues so that drive control not for me. To many obstacles for grass to stick to the deck underneath..and what's with the plug?? If all they have to offer are lots of angles and some drill holes I'll keep looking..
Personally, I like the downward motion more than the curve. I just hate it. That’s and I’m still trying to get my hands on a Toro Timemaster, but I don’t want to get it a new one anymore because of the handlebar I’d rather get an older style one.
Has it ever been a contender with Honda? Here in Australia the Toro was still a steel deck 2 bladed piece of rubbish. It was half the quality of a Honda and felt like junk, with an exorbitant price tag.
I sold my 12 year old Toro Super Recycler on FB marketplace for a 2 year old Honda HRX 217. 1st thing I noticed was clumping lines. But new blades. Much better grass cutting. But leaf mulching is terrible. My old Toro never left a leaf in sight after fall cuts. Looking to another Toro Super Recycler
I have an old Toro lawnmower that has a Honda engine on it that’s 20 years old. Just recently bought a new Honda HRX217VKA and can’t wait to get it. Home Depot and Lowe’s don’t offer them anymore. Had to get it from ACME tools hopefully they don’t cancel it since it’s backed ordered for 2-3 weeks.
More and more the industry is focusing on electric yard maintenance equipment. I like the old Briggs quantum flathead engine. No choke mechanism just a simple primer system. Very simple and reliable with plenty of power.
The sputtering is easy to fix and has three causes. First, the spark plug boot may not be pushed all the way on. Second, it only comes with only enough oil to fill to the bottom of the acceptable oil fill zone on the dipstick. The engine has an oil level switch and won't run if too little oil is in it. Mow on a hill or hit a bump and the oil sloshes and the oil level switch momentarily turns off, killing the engine for a second. Just add more oil up to to the top of the hashed area on the dipstick. Finally, the factory Champion plugs just misfire. Take your spark plug out and replace it with correct E3 brand spark plug, (E3.20 on mine). Be sure to carefully set the spark gap to what the manual says (0.020" on mine). Regarding the slight variation in wheel height, the wheels have ball bearings and tighter tolerances. With plain bearing wheels there is more bearing play and that lets all wheels touch the floor, therefore you can't detect any wheel diameter difference. Not an issue at all when on grass as the grass is springy. Good mower. Much more nimble than the steel deck versions. I have long arms so the lower handle does not hit my gut. If you have short arms or a big gut, I would not recommend it.
@@GarageGear I’ll need to remember these tips for my replacement recycler. Hope sputtering won’t be an issue this time around. I’ll know by the weekend.
Just purchased this mower. I know this video is older - but do you have the issue with the sputtering with bumps in lawn? Did you fix it? I checked the spark plug boot and it is all the way in.
@@GarageGear Well today I changed the original oil with Mobil synthetic 5W20, and also changed the factory spark plug to E3.20, put some fresh gas in and had very little sputtering. The only time it sputtered was when I was going sideways on a slope. For sure an improvement.
Thanks for all your videos JB, I bought this exact same mower 3 weeks ago from my Toro dealer. Right off the bat I learned how to take the engine cover off, since this new model has a redesigned cover with the black trim. So I want to pass along how to do it since you won't find information anywhere. The red cover itself has 2 torx head screws to remove, but there is a hidden one underneath the black trim. To remove the black trim, Stand in front of the machine looking towards the back of the engine, the back of the trim is a tab you push back underneath the red cover, look for the rectangular cutout off the black trim, I used a flat he'd screw drive to push the tab back while lifting a little on the back of the trim. Once you have the loose ther are tabs on each side of the trim just about where the "electric start label is. Push each one towards the center of the trim while lifting a little more on the trim piece. Once you have the 3 tabs released the black trim rotates off the front of the cover and then you will see the last torx screw.. Might be a good subject for you to make a short video on... thanks for what you do.
Keith you are da MAN! This will definitely be helpful as I start tinkering with this mower in upcoming videos. Definitely appreciate you taking the time to give instructions on this! It would seem that toro was more focused on aesthetics and not practicality. Used to only be two screws and the cover would come off. Thanks again for sharing keith!
I'm using a 96 Toro commercial recycler II mower and couldn't be more happy. My parents bought a super recycler after mowing the yard one time. They weren't a fan of the personal pace. Other than that, it delivered a nice cut.!
Hey JB I was able to use my Toro Super Recycler 21564 today two weeks ago I sprayed the deck with GUNK Outdoor Equipment Mower Deck Spray when I was done mowing there was hardly any grass build up and what was there hosed off. Next time I'll take before and after pictures
I 100% agree with your overall critiques. I owned a 2022 60v version of this mower last year and ended up returning it. Left front wheel wouldn’t touch the ground when level (deck not level?), “steering wheel” personal pace system is too large and very difficult to navigate in tighter spaces compared to previous, handlebars weren’t level due to a bent mount on the mower itself, bag wouldn’t sit flush to the back, personal pace adjustment screw stuck out about 1/2” too far and caught my arm a couple of times going for the bag, mulch plug is a joke to get in and out. It’s a real bummer because I think that the previous super recyclers were fantastic. Their design choices for this mower are highly questionable and the QC is abysmal considering the price point and how much competition is coming up in the OPE segment.
Hey Six! Thanks for sharing! I’m going to have plenty to talk about with this mower lol! Lots of gear grinding if you know what I mean. I’ve done a lot of videos regarding poor toro quality. I wonder if they’re watching them? 🤔Stay tuned bud!
I have the electric model I bought about a year ago. I love it. I love the quiet, no oil and gas to handle, and I can take the battery out and tip it any way i want without worrying about what is going to spill our. I don't know if they made any improvements, but the rear wheels started to wobble a bit and not be rock solid. Culprit, the plastic inner tube split. Solution, I put a hose clamp on each wheel and reassembled. Problem solved. I did some other mods to make it do what I wanted it to do. I probably should ask for new ones, but eh.
@@GarageGear yes I've already ordered new jets and filter I figured if I take it all apart to clean it I may as well replace it with a new one thanks for the info
Im a loyal Honda mower fan like you now, after my Troybilt I had for 13 years had finally needed to retire (engine was starting to burn oil and would backfire on occasion). I always wanted a Honda because of the throttle control (Of which doesnt exist on most mowers anymore), the blade stop feature with the engine still running and the hydrostatic transmission (no belts to contend with). I havent looked at your channel line up to see if u did a review of a Snapper mower, but much to my surprise, they are still being made. Looking through all the mowers available besides Honda, Snapper is honestly the only next best option once Honda disappears from the U.S. market. Snapper still uses the fly wheel disc self propel system and was also the first self propelled lawnmower ever made. The mower has a speed control and throttle control, I dont know about a blade stop feature, but anyway, would be awesome if you could get your hands on one of the new Snapper mowers if you havent done a review of one already and give us a review. I'd love to see it in action. My parents used to have an old snapper mower and the thing lasted over 30 years, they are built strong and reliable and at least briggs and straton was doing a better job of their engine builds back then too. We recently got rid of the Snapper mower (only because the handle bar didnt adjust high enough for a 6'3" person as myself so mowing with it was uncomfortable with the handle bar so low and non adjustable, otherwise if the handlebar was height adjustable, Id of hell of on to it, instead I gave it to a landscaping company owned by mexicans who are short and would appreciate it) after I bought a 2nd Honda Mower and brought my slightly older one less than 2 year old HRX217HYA to my parents house since I maintain their yard for them).
190cc in a store stock mower is rayer. They do send a side discharge chute. Same with the AWD lawn boy from 2015. Easy to register and they ship it fast. But wait. Doesn't the deck benefit from NOT having a big chunk missing from it?
Hey Bob! Bought mine at Home Depot online and had it shipped to the store. Thanks for the info on the side discharge! I’m confused about the deck chunk though. It’s definitely a flaw from the mold. What do you mean exactly?
@@GarageGear the usual right side cutout for the flap. Some have cracks in the area where the steel is at its thinnest. The deck naturally wants to flex when the operator pushes down on the handle. Now I'm not sure about the slag or whatever those blobs are. Probably some cost cutting.
The freaking handle. Why did the fix something that not only wasn't broken but was the best in the business? I have a 2011 Toro, love the Personal Pace mechanism, but this new higher, arching, forward placed design is a big step back. Freaking companies and freaking engineers who do something, anything to show they are clever and smart (this isn't). I may just order a new engine for my 2011 and figure out how to adapt the kill switch cable.
I just got the 21464 model. The electric start system does not have an onboard charging circuit. The battery is supposed to last anywhere from 30 to 60 starts before it has to be hooked up to the included trickle charger.
9 months into my SR life… electric start is nothing but a problem. Blue button stays down, charge is crap, and if I pull it off the charger and cut the electric components make crazy noises about 30 minutes into the cut.
The sputtering was due to a design flaw on the Briggs stow n go carburetors. It affected other manufacturers as well as Toro. The toro fix was a recall on the carburetor. I made a video fixing it my self. Works like a champ now.
I bought this model last year and had major issues with sputtering and weakness. What I found is that the choke plate was closing when it bounced and would end up flooding the engine over the course of the cut. I tightened up the linkage until the auto-choke just barely worked, had no issue since. I still think it's overpriced for what it is, but has been a good mower.
I sold my 2-year-old Honda HRN mower in the belief that I was going to move to a place without a yard. Now, I find out that they quit making them, and wish like hell that I would have kept mine. I also see that the price of them has gone up at least $150 since I purchased mine. I wonder if I should buy another one before supplies run out, or just go to something like a Toro this time instead
Bought this model new from a local lawn and garden power tool store. By the fourth time using it, the thing wouldn't move. Called the store and the service tech told me how to adjust the personal pace. ?????? 4 times and I am already doing the work on it. Not happy about that, but, I do like the machine. Also, The front air "wedger" can get plugged with grass clippings real quick if you don't rinse it out with a hose. When I registered it, toro sent me the "rear" side discharge chute. Free.
If you want power and already had a super recycler, you could just buy a honda gcv190 and have a powerhouse of a unit for just $300. Mowers are getting expensive so
I am in the market this year to buy a new push mower like the one you have picked up. My six year old Toro super recycler has mowed six yards per week for the last six years. I had the transmission replaced last year, and now the deck has broke on the side discharge. I’m getting that welded, but its time for a new one. One of the problems I have found is the adjustable wheels. They have always been difficult to operate. A big plus is the engine. It has never failed to start. Not sure yet what will take its spot on my trailer this year. I will be watching.
sir does the Super cycler disengage immediately when the personal pace is released.? I have use for a new mower for personal use and I have tight spots where many times on evry mow Ill have to (pull the mower backwards direction) reverse. And darn sure i don't want to damage this mower working components during this reverse movement.
@@jamesgorman5774 The blade does not disengage when I drag it backwards. It doesn’t have a reverse. I’m still using it on at least 5 yards per week. I have found a second crack in the frame a couple of weeks ago, so this will be it’s last season.
Great overview. That's a nice-looking mower and I look forward to your review. I was looking at Toro and Honda to replace a 1997 John Deere JX75. The JX75 is still running strong and really has no major issues. It's just getting difficult to find parts for it. Especially the drive train. I went with a Honda HRX217HYA because, as far as I know. None of the modern Toro Recycler series with the exception of the Timemaster have a blade brake. I find it very annoying that the mower completely shuts down when the handle is released. I don't mind the blade stopping. It's just the complete shutdown that's a pain. I still use a Toro Recycler 20333 at my parents' house (circa 2011) that does have a blade brake. It has been a good mower. The in-laws have a front wheel drive non blade brake Toro Recycler. It runs well for an entry-level mower, but I am not a fan of front wheel drive. If you don't have a fairly level lawn. I don't think front wheel drive is a good choice.
Hey cw! All good points here! I used to have a JX85! Great mowers! Parts were getting hard to find and still are! Totally agree on the blade brake! That should be a given on this mower at this price point. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 👍
Blade brakes BREAK. Hehe. Here's is the power play: use a Velcro band around the handle. Sometimes I tie a cloth around it. I know not to slip and end up under the thing. But the Velcro could be attached to a wrist strap to make it like a boat bail switch. I wish they would offer something smarter but people are dumb. Lol
@@marshmowerJust did a replacement BB Clutch assemble last year on my Brother's John Deere 14 SB that I purchased new back in 1996. That's 26 years of use, not exactly an issue with Blade Brake Clutches I'd say.
There are a few other reasons why I skipped Toro altogether: The transmissions on them are lacklustre at best, on the BBC models are belt based, the Personal Pace doesn't use a hydrostatic transmission, but belt tension for variable speed and more often than not, when I cut someone's grass and they wanted it really short, I tend to easily scalp people's lawns more than I ever did with any other make. I also considered Cub Cadet at one point but went with the Honda HRC2163HXC, the top of the line and commercial Honda mower sold in Canada. The deck on that Toro looks really robust other than the painting defects, in fact, it really resembles the Honda HR(C)214/215 decks. Now, that said, I really do like Toro's older snow blowers as I have one but replaced the Tecumseh engine with a Honda GX160. I can't say much about Toro's newer snow throwers but they do intrigue me a bit. Now, if I wanted to buy a 30" walk behind mower, I would definitely go SCAG as those are incredibly robust, fairly easy to work on machines and the fact that they have my favourite North American engine brand, the Kohler Command Pro.
Hey regular car guy! The workbench has its own 4 legs and the cabinets sit underneath it with room between it and the cabinets. The bench is not mounted to a wall. Super sturdy! How have you been bud?
Ok, this is my 6th video on the Toro 21564 mower. And this is the best, most in depth video so far. But no one is addressing the elephant in the room. Actually 4 of 6 videos have addressed "the elephant" but no one covers the charger, or the various electric connectorshould from the deck to the Push to Start button.
FYI when you register, do not use the online bot and save yourself 2 wasted hours! Call the 800 number first. Forewarned, that rear discharge puts out a lot of grass on your feet. I've attached a crazy carpet to the discharge to extend it and keep grass off my ankles.
I bought the battery model and have found they have all the issues you just went over. The only only that really pisses me off is that the front wheels are not leveled ! On a level surface one wheel is always off the ground not by much but it clearly spins freely. Don't know what to do about it.
Styling? Who gives a crap about styling when the engine, by your own admission, is a POS. I have a 2019 Time Master and it's been a repair nightmare. I'd personably avoid Toro if I were you.
I’ll be waiting for the grass to grow in Buffalo to see how it works out. I’ve been using a 1994 Craftsman with aluminum deck and looking to replace it for my last mower. It’s been great and only replaced the wheels, blade. Starts on 2nd pull. Hate to replace the old stuff if working well. 1971 Ariens with Predator lives on!
great vid wow that thing looks ugly!!!! how does the engine look any plastic parts like carb/bowl. when are u going to start cutting, take care ur bud in fl.Ray
Hey Ray! I’m going to be doing some investigating as I do more videos on this mower! Then I can really comment on how it’s built! Thanks for watching bud! 👍
Hey JB! For a push-mower, I have an 2005 - 6.5hp craftsman’s 21”, with the B&S Flathead. Works like a little champ. I don’t have a large yard, so it doesn’t get a lot of hours through the grass season (maybe 10-15hr max a year). Works fairly well, do my own maintenance and still starts and runs great :). Thanks for showing us the new addition to the fleet! Looking forward to your playlist on this one! Cheers! Andrew from NB, Canada :)
