In the final Episode of this 4 Part series, it’s about modifying the cut width indicator, an ‘inch scale’ that is delineated in 10ths of an inch, the correct installation of the board guide/fence, the rest of the story on the drive belt tensioner bolts and more - including the discovery of the missing set screws!
This is truly like a treasure hunt. Mystery and reward. Meaning you get more fun than you might have bargained for with your Woodmizer EG100.
PS - Love my Woodmizer EG100 and knowing what I know now, I would still absolutely buy it all over again.

Good morning Howard, did your eg100 come with the dust try in the bottom under the equipment? Mine just got shipped, paperwork shows it but not shipped. Did woodmizer get you the proper scale? Great video sir

Mine did not come with the dust tray either. Showed it but they said that they don't ship with that anymore. Also, and I think I mention it in one of the Woodmizer videos, there was no ability to hook up the emergency stop button. And no one from Woodmizer could tell me how to resolve that issue, despite repeated requests. Just a couple of minor issues tho that prevent me from giving it a full 5 stars out of 5. Overall, love it tho. Enjoy! Thanks for tuning in . . .

Now that I have watched the entire video I have a couple more tips. Your infeed guide wheel assembly is mounted in the wrong holes. You should not have to move it out to put your fence up or down. You are correct, 2" lumber will hit that outfeed wheel and nearly stall the engine in that position. Read my other comments below. With it flipped around it will ride on the top of the board and put pressure on it. Also, with the way you have it positioned, the lumber will want to curve and cause a wavy cut because there is no pressure on it from the wheel when it exits the blades. Watch a Woodmizer video and you'll notice how they have the guide wheel assembly set up. I hope this helps you out and you'll see it works much better.

Whoa - such great advice. Huge thanks. One of my main reasons for doing these videos is to elicit advice, tips, tricks and techniques like you just provided. I really appreciate your taking the time to respond in detail. Your recommendations will be implemented before the day is done.

@@howardkettner No problem! I have seen an actual Woodmizer video that have it set up wrong too but most videos are correct. I've had the eg100 for a couple years and wondered why the 2" lumber was ramming the outfeed wheel when I first got it. Let me know how you make out.

Your outfeed guide wheel assembly is on backwards. I did the same on mine and finally figured it out. Simply lift the assembly out and flip it around so the wheel is the same as the infeed.

Finally needed to put that edger to work again. Made the change you suggested. Awesome! Huge thanks.

Glad to hear it helped! It certainly does make a difference.

Notice how the outfeed wheel does not touch the first board. It will when you flip the assembly around.

Totally agreed. It's just that for 50 years any walls I've built are with 2"X4'"s on 16" centres and increments of 1/8th of an inch. :) Having the edger settings in 1/10ths of an inch did catch me a bit by surprise. :)

@@howardkettner yes! It's like some of the tooling prints will be in metric so it becomes you have to think in more than one language. For me it's. 03937 = 1mm

Thanks for tuning and commenting! Probably the only downside is the assembly and set-up which I found to be harder than it needed to be because of of poor if not sometimes entirely misleading or incomplete instructions. On at least a couple of occassions I had to simply exercise common sense - and that is not a bad thing. Probably need to do that more often. haha. It's a super solid little unit. Good value all around.
