bought my e30 with a broken odo that said 140k miles after getting the carfax for it i found out it had 250k miles in 2007 hahaha. Has atleast 400k on it now with the same motor and is still going strong!
I would add one thing, the water pumps on the M20 are behind the timing belt and they are fairly inexpensive so if you replace them every other timing belt change you will save yourself from a really bad day later on.
1988 318i 5sp. - Bronzitbeig. Owned in Heidelberg, Germany. It was flawless. 1991 318is 5sp. - Diamantschwarz. Rear ended and totalled ☹ 1991 318is 5sp. - Diamantschwarz. Still have it. Totally restored, full body restoration, all new trim, full engine rebuilt, new paint, 17" APEXs, 1995 M3 steering rack. Still need to fix the sport driver side seat. Drives like dream.

@@TheEuroLife. Do I understand correctly that you can immediately install et25, and then there will be no problems? I think on 17 8j et25 do you think they will fit well? Are you going to put spacers on all 4 wheels or just one axle?
