Never thought in a million years id feel emotional about Arthur's parents and wanted them to be together. It made the ending all the more satisfying.

Atlanna: "I'll return to you. When it's safe." Tom: "This is the way" Atlanna: "What?" Tom: "What?"

Atlanna: *saves Arthur and Tom from soldiers by totally wrecking the house* Tom: "I am never going to financially recover from this."

I felt so bad for the dad he truly loved her and walked out there everyday

I love how she looks so motherly and couldn't even hurt a fly but when she fight she became totally badass. Nicole Kidman is truly one talented actress!

"Where I come from, the sea carries the tears away" "Not here. Here you feel them." That was such a nice touch to the film.

This actually is a proof that Tom & Atlanna lived for years without a single fight... cuz if they did he wouldn't be alive

Honestly, I found it admirable that the dad kept waiting for her to come back every day.

I love how Atlanna went from a loving mother telling her son a story to a bad-ass mother protecting him. I hope she will be in the sequel.

Nicole is wickedly good at acting. She can portray literally any person she takes on. From singing as a french burlesque dancer to being an evil mother, to a dainty new australian tourist. And now. A queen of the oceans. What. A. Boss.

THAT'S how you make a fight scene. No shaking camera, no quick cuts. You always know who's where and what's happening around.

I remember being in the cinema and thinking about how I was so disappointed with so many of the other DCEU movies that I was just hoping this movie would be good. After watching this scene I sat back in my chair relaxed and strapped myself in for the ride. Still my favourite DCEU movie to this day. I just loved the fact that this movie knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything else.

Aquaman's father is truly the best in quality. He's truly loyal, protective and understanding, he's what a true father should be. Can't say much about mine...

Did anyone watch this scene and think: "How are they suppose to pay for all the damages?"

Mannnnn....Nicole in her prime would have made a Beautiful Mera. She's so perfect for that role. Mysterious, spunky and with ethereal beauty. Its the "at the right place at the wrong time" kinda moment now.

I bet the king must have been super pissed at his underlings when he found that she's been living next to the ocean for YEARS. The underlings were like, how could we possibly find her, she could be anywhere inland, let's just leave and get drunk.

"Next time they'll send an army", Don't worry he's got a whole clone army.

Dude imagine breaking into this house just to run into a clone soldier and the queen of Atlantis

This fighting scene is very well coordinated.

That deaging effect was really on point. So seamless. Also that's an awesome battle couple. She leave their son to him cause he will protect him. Fighting the atlanteans was her domain but she knows he can and will protect their son all the same. No matter what. The husband and the wife's duty will always be to their child. And they will always protect their child.

A reminder that _Aquaman_ wasn’t Nicole Kidman’s first DC film she’s ever done, she previously played Dr. Chase Meridian in _Batman Forever_ and she was smoking hot in that film 🔥

I love this film, its epic nature, its effects, the world building....but the story of Arthur´s parents is what touched me the most. I cried when they met again.

The thing i love about this movie is, unlike other origin stories where the child is from a different world and doesn't know anything until the movie starts. This starts out with aquaman always knowing about his other life, and actively trying to ignore it on his own will.

this is one of the best DC movies they’ve made, if not THE best. plus Nicole Kidman is absolutely fantastic.

This is pretty much my all time superhero movie fight scene, so easy to read, so easy to follow through, so clean. I feel like I just showered its so clean.

Damn DC’s got the parent intro rip you to shreds moment down pat. Man of Steel was also a good beginning for parents sacrifice moment.

I saw some questions about royalty, and titles so wanted to explain. Queen Atlanna is actually The Queen of Atlantis, Queen Regnant (a ruling queen in her own right), and a descendant of King Atlan. Orvax was a fleet captain who was to wed Princess Atlanna in an effort to bind ties between the Aristocracy and the Sea Force. So the movie referring to Orvax as king prior to his marriage is incorrect. He is not royal and his title acquired AFTER marriage as King of Atlantis is a courtesy title granted to the consort of The Queen of Atlantis. Upon divorce Orvax would cease to be king consort. So as Prince Arthur is her firstborn and she is a queen regnant, he is heir to the throne of Atlantis. The only thing not clear is that she should still be The Queen of Atlantis and Arthur would be The Crown Prince of Atlantis. I suppose we are to infer that she abdicated the crown or her abandoning it allowed Orm to claim the throne and that she no longer wishes to be the queen regnant. Which allows Arthur to claim the throne as king. So when King Arthur marries, his wife would be queen consort (queen via marriage) and their children would be next in line to the throne however if his queen sired a child with another man, that child would have no claim to the throne as she is a queen via marriage and not blood. I hope this explains the royalty aspect. One note is Queen Atlanna is now The Queen Mother of Atlantis. Prince Orm of Atlantis is now heir presumptive, which means he is technically next in line to be king. However as it is an existing possibility that someone with a greater claim to the throne can still be born, for example the children of the current king. If Arthur has children, the first born would be heir apparent and displace their Uncle Orm.

@3:37 when Queen Atlanna wipes away a tear from her eye and looks at it. She's from the ocean; she would never have been able to quantify sadness until this moment when she has to say goodbye to her son and lover; under the ocean she would have never have felt or seen tears. Humans and Atlanteans are not so different after all.

Usually it's common we look a husband protect his family. A dad will against a threatening to protect his family. But in this case, the wife is a super mother, while the husband hugged their baby. So yeah, an unusual scene. 😱

Love this. You can think what you will, but I think Dc movies have increased in quality a lot. I actually enjoyed the other movies, but I loved Wonder Woman, Shazam, and Aquaman. They are focusing on how to do it like Marvel less. Now they are focusing on how they can do it like them

I loved this, especially because they did exactly what parents should. They sacrificed everything for their child and succeeded in protecting him properly.

Thomas Curry keeps a pet dog, a golden retriever. In the comics, Aquaman and Mera adopted a golden retriever whom they dubbed "Aquadog".

He may be a simple man in this scene compared to her, but this experience really changed him. He did, in fact, abandon Arthur and went on to become one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.
