For a first time pysanky writer I think you have done amazing! Each year we (my siblings and cousins, along with our Moms) would spend a day and my Baba’s (Grandmother) writing eggs. There was always at least one or two oopsy drops! lol. My Baba was very accomplished and I love making pysanky. Thanks so much for sharing! ❤️

When I used to do pysanky(I’m not steady enough anymore), I would use 1/8” drafting tape to start off my design. It’s plastic skinny tape that can be lifted an repositioned if need be. If you write on one side of the tape all the way around, it all comes out even. I have dozens of eggs some of which belonged to my grandma. I’m 71 now so those eggs are older than me. Mine aren’t blown. Eventually they dry out and you can feel the yolk rattling on the inside.

I have my husband's, Granny's kistka and lump of wax. I've been meaning to teach myself but after watching this video I decided to dive in. I've started the wax lines on some eggs tonight and ordered the dye to be here by Sunday. Granny is 88 and still has ones from her childhood. I'm hoping to present her with at least one this Easter. Hubby's family is Ukrainian and I know she really wants her traditions to be passed down. Thank you so much for these videos!

You are a gifted teacher, that is for certain! I’ve always been intrigued by these beautiful eggs, but never tried it. My church is having a little class after service tomorrow. I went to RU-vid and thought I would watch a few so I could understand the basic process. I’ve watched several tutorials and by far yours is the best, because you explained everything so well! Thanks, Sandy!

Oh SANDY! They are wonderful! When Ali think of the hours and patience (and mourning when one is lost) you put into these! This is a wonderful video. Your instructions are so clear so well done, and I particularly appreciate the variety of designs that you showcase. Great work and I am glad you had fun. You continue to inspire me, art-wise, but more importantly, human-wise. Thank you.

Instead of dipping the kistka into the wax, I hold the wax in one hand and "scoop" from a bottom corner of the wax with the edge of the top of the kistka. Like scooping ice cream upside-down.

I always learn something new from watching your videos. The pysanky eggs have always intrigued me. Now I can appreciate the time that goes into their design. I have several hand-painted eggs that were a gift from my Czech and Slovak cousins that actually survived the flight home 24 years ago. I still haven’t given my grown sons theirs!😂

The detailed steps in part one was incredibly fascinating. I had never heard of Pysanky eggs and was sold on the etched version you made. And I loved this group of eggs as well. I'm a bit nervous (me and "fragile" don't work well together) but I think I will try it. Thanks so much for posting this series. It was very informative!

Sandy you are so steady; that is a plus. I think you did very well. For the wax, I use thin sheets of bees wax (used for rolled candles), and simply pull off small pieces to put into the kistka hole. I hope you do pysanky again. They were beautiful.

Each one is so pretty, but all together in the basket they are spectacular! I am taking a moment to mourn the loss of the one egg. I am having the classic approach-avoidance reaction. Wow- I want to do that! No, I can’t make it through all of the steps! But, they are so pretty. But, no, too many steps! And that reverse masking….oy!
