This year studying acts, I finally looked at Paul's first missionary journey. Holy -walking far,with boats and no convenient modern travel accessories. That alone inspired me to look at so much more.

Just want to say, I’m so grateful for you ❤ my husband grew up in the church, I did not. I’ve been trying to get closer to God and his word but never knew how to start and you have helped me so much in that battle! Did my first Bible study last night using one of your videos. Girl! You always toss out these little gems, “In all of your empty spaces, fill your mind with God’s word.“ so beautiful & SO GOOD! Like I’m legit writing that in my Bibles. And hanging on my wall. You are such a great example of 1Tim 4:12 (Pretty sure I’m old enough to be your momma, lol). I learn so much from you. And, I went to a Christian University and Grad School, and took all the Theology, Bible, Hermeneutics, word studies, etc and so forth, courses. So I’m not a beginner, and yet, this ‘beginner’ video was beneficial to me! Please know, I’m not bragging, just giving some context to the impact of your ministry … meaning, I pray you never underestimate the value of what you are doing. Thank you!

Faith I just happened upon your page and I agree with all your tips. In our Bible study we’re going through Revelations, still in Chapter 3 church #6. 😅 We’re reading commentaries, using different Bible study translations, using Bible dictionaries, watching Bible Project videos, listening to audio Bibles, and listening to sermons over the 7 churches in Rev 2-3. These things have helped us comprehend what Jesus was saying to these churches. We started in November and still on the 6th church because there is so much to unpack from what is referencing to the Old Testament. It’s so awesome that we live in a day and age where we have so many resources. All this to say is that God is giving us hunger for more of His Word so I can agree with filling the empty spaces with HIM! Let it be all about him!!! Blessings! 💜 💜 💜

Girl - me too!!! Obsessed is such a good analogy to use. Sounds like your soul is on fire just like mine is but I agree, it’s so hard to know where to start when you have these fires blazing. I get this way ever so often and it’s such a good feeling! I’m one of Faith’s Patreon subs but sometimes I’m unable to join the Bible studies: however, everything is linked for you so you can review on your own time! Hi I love your channel, your ministry, and your passion for others to LEARN THE BIBLE. Not just read it and be done with it. Oct 2022 I had my first daughter and my right lung collapsed after labor. I spent a lot of months in a hospital and got two new lungs donated. Since then I have started to read the Bible and want to understand it. I am currently reading The Great Adventure Bible by Jeff Calvin’s, The Catechism of Catholic Church by Jeff Calvin’s, and The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers. I have time on my hands to read while I recover. I have been consistently reading. I don’t like to write in my books but you have inspired me on note taking. I am going to start note taking in a notebook. Because when I note take and something speaks to me I say alot and margins just won’t do. By the way as you have noticed I am Catholic.

Jack Hibbs, John MacArthur, Chuck Missler are all great teachers on verse by verse and topic teachers !!!!!! Chuck Missler does book studies verse by verse but also teaches about the culture at the time.

I like that Oxford Bible Atlas - good size and I've had it for years (though haven't used it much LOL until recently). my fave study Bibles so far are Life in the Spirit study Bible (now Fire Bible I think), Nelson NKJV study system/study Bible), Wesley Study Bible (I love the Wesleyan notes), ESV study Bible.

It's out of print at the moment, but if someone can find a used copy of the Zondervan Archaeological Bible, that one's great as well. Also, the IVP Bible background commentaries or anything by Lois Tverberg.

Skip Heitzig although from the Calvary Chapel movement is an EXCELLENT Bible teacher. His expound Bible study playlist is so worth listening to. The man is a walking cultural study Bible. I highly recommend. And I don't even go to Calvary Chapel. I'm a member of a Reformed Baptist church.

For me, opening a commentary too soon is like reading the last page of a book before I have finished the first page. I love the journey of exploring and asking questions. I actually like the feeling of confusion because that means I have something to learn. Confusion is typically where I focus my attention because I live for lightbulb moments, especially with God and the Bible. Then when I open a commentary it is much more alive to me. They fill in my gaps. Or answer a question that has been bugging me all week. And sometimes I disagree with them because I have taken the time to form my own thoughts around the passage. I’m definitely going to check out your resource recommendations! Love listening to people that think differently than I do. It’s one of my fav things and I love your channel. ❤️

Hi Faith ! Do you recommend any certain highlighters that doesn't bleed through on the next page ? i found out Dollar General they have some writing pens one is fine detail and another one is a little bigger and then they have 2 calligraphy pens that are excellent made by the Art Skills Brand. I picked me up some new colored pencils.

Hi! I am super new to the word of God and have listened to several sermons. But I am a bit confused about where I should get my resources from and how to start. I have already downloaded your Bible study guide thank you so much for that!!! But I am not sure how to get into it ... I have NIV bibles all over my house but I have no issue looking into other versions to catch up. Help? Thank you so so much for every word!

No need to spend money! Just grab one of your current Bibles, dive in reading and if you have any questions, look it up online in a free commentary or sermon on the passage! If you DO want to buy something, buy the Bible knowledge Commentary or something simpler like that and just read the sections on the passage of scripture you have questions about! In Monday's video I'll show you how I do that, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Can you explain the reason for the cross references? I want to dive in and study but it seems that if I look back on cross references that will lead to more cross references and etc and before you know it I’m off track from my original quest for understanding of what I started to study in the first place!

Typically three times, unless I'm studying it for like weeks on end. And then, just twice if I am rushing through my Bible study! But always at least more than once!

This is overwhelming. Honestly. (Edited to say that I'm going to be blessed just to be able to buy a Bible, let alone all these other books... so there's that aspect. Then, even if I did have all these other books... like, what?? It just seems overwhelming. I'm just hurt and want to heal, yanno?)

There are many ways to get these books free or very low cost. I got mine on ebay. One retailed for 85 I got it for 4.99. There are also free websites that have some of these. I have also borrowed a few from my church. So you can find them in a lot of places if you want.

If truth is what you seek, the Bible and like books are not the beginners books to read. In my young man days, I would fill my mind with scriptures thinking it would lead me to enlightenment. It doesn’t. Our minds are made to be guided by truth,facts. Imagine believing the world is flat. This would lead you to act on that “fact”. Imagine believing God needs you to donate 10% of your income. God the creator of the universe needs your income- really,allow that idea to sink in!
