I searched "DIY Leather Wallet" because I was thinking about making one for myself and maybe saving some money. But very quickly into this video I realized the amount of tools and time needed to make one isn't for me 😂 With that said, you did an absolutely incredible job showing how it's done. Not only with your actual hands on skill and explanation, but your video filming, editing, graphics, and pacing of the video. 10/10 guide. Again, I will not be making a wallet after watching but your video was fantastic.
😂😂 yeah, there are a lot of tools involved! Glad you enjoyed watching the video, I do offer some DIY kits where you can assemble your own wallet, if you are interested in making your own, without the need to buy all the tools www.jhleather.co.uk/collections/diy-leather-craft-kits
Thank you, a brilliant tutorial, everything very well explained and easy to understand with some great tips on the way. Thank you again, I have just received the acrylic pack for this wallet today 2/9/23, very quick dispatch and delivery, looking forward to having a go at this. Take care Sam 16:07
So great to see a basic bifold. I make things for gifts. There are several nice card holders, but I get requests for the basic bifold more often. Also the pro tip of what edges to bevel before assembly. It is something that gets forgotten sometimes by me.
Been tanning game / cattle / ostrich/croc /reptileskins for leather --55 years --==but have never made anything useful from hundreds of veg tanned hides ---thankyou for the motivation!
Hello!! I love it if I work, I follow you here from Brazil🇧🇷 One question I have, how many millimeters does the external part need to be larger than the internal part? to fit perfectly into the fold, just like yours. Big hug and continue with the content
Thank you! It depends on your choice of leather, the best way to do it is to make your internal wallet part first, then fold that in half and measure with the leather that you are intending to use for your outer wallet. As a guess, is will probably be around 6mm, but I would double check that first by measuring yourself 👍
Hello, I would like to make something similar but I don't know what type of leather to use. Could you give me some advice? What leather did you use in this video? Thanks in advance!
@@JHLeather Thanks for taking the time to reply! I’m excited about learning as much as I can. This seems like a good hobby to keep me busy for the winter. Thanks!
Congrats for the video! I would like to make something similar but I don't know what type of leather to use. Could you give me some advice? What leather did you use in this video? Many thanks in advance!
You don't want to edge bits that will be stitched together else there will be a grove/dip in your finished edge. This way it keeps that flush and level.
Where we suffer in the UK is that our currencies lowest 8 denominations are coins, meaning money and wallets become a problem of 'bulk', if you want to use cash and avoid the digitalisation of currency and the problems that opens us all up to.
