Omg I’m a 33 yo millennial, I’ve watched 6 of these and give up every time YOU ARE WAY AHEAD OF ME (this is at least the simplest, but all I want to do is post a preexisting photo & change the background color / maybe tag someone...this is 100% harder than NYU anthro finals and makes absolutely no sense) Every-time I log into insta and decide I’m gonna get back on top of my SM presence I spend 45 minutes screaming at it & end giving up after making accidental story posts ready to throw my phone against the wall and become a Luddite..and it seems like it just keeps getting worse and worse & more complicated with less intuitive UI on the entire internet everyday. Is this actually my ADHD and not my age??? Anyway bless you for figuring it out cause I can’t

Hey! You can do this with GIFS! If you click on the sticker icon at the top of the page > then GIF > then search starburst you can see what they have there! 🙂

Absolutely! These are names from my last program launch, and they are the names of all of the students who joined me in that program 🙌 I like to celebrate each student joining, and this is how I do it! 💛

Why can't I find this camera icon on the left? I see a plus sign, but that doesn't let me add to my story. I have Android.

Some instagram layouts are a bit different now as they roll out new features so this might be in different spots - especially on Androids! In this case, if you click the plus sign it might come up as a post but it might alternatively give you the option of scrolling over and making a story! Another option is that if you go to where your story icon is (the circle) and click that, instead of posting a story you may be able to scroll over and go live that way! I hope this helps!

Hey Amanda! You can 🙌 Once you're inside of your story editor/creator (with a photo or video), click the "sticker" icon at the top of the page > scroll down and select "music" > then you can choose from a wide variety of music/songs that you can upload into your story! Enjoy!!

My question is - what if you don't necessarily want to take a picture of yourself or video of something, but rather an existing photo or video in your phone's gallery? How do you start with that? Solomon eke, Instagram doesn't have animated text yet, so ones that you've seen was likely done using another app... such as Canva or Mojo :)

Your info at 13:00 + was what I was looking for! Playing with this now, I've basically worked through dinner time. I also tried the logo-as-a-sticker. It worked until 15:01 - mine doesn't appear as a sticker. It's just another image that is available from the swipe up. Not sure why! Thx for the video! ~ Glory B.

I’m sorry but if you’re doing a video where you’re trying to show us things why are you storing yourself 75% of the size of the picture and 25% of what you’re doing? Shouldn’t it be the other way around. You’re very pretty are you trying to get that across the people that you’re very pretty so the video you’re doing it’s just a side act and people Don’t really need to be here other than to look at you

Yay! I'm so happy that you learned a lot from the video, Daniela! Once you have a story, you'll see "send to.." in the bottom corner, and then you'll see "your story" and a blue button to "share". Simply hit "share" and your story will be posted 🙂 And, yes, it will disappear after 24 hours so if you want something to last longer on your profile then I would suggest posting it as a feed post vs. a story. I hope that helps!

Hey Elizabeth! If you're recording right from within Instagram, yes, you'll need to hold that record button the whole time 🙂 There is a "hands-free" option in the stories mode, so you could use that instead though! xx

After 24 hrs, my story disappears and my camera roll appears. How do I stop that from happening and just go back to my picture without the plus sign? Thank you.

Hey Priscilla! This is what a story does 🙂 It is only available on your page for 24 hours, and then it will disappear! If you want the post to stay on your page, you'll have to post it to your feed. I hope this helps clarify! xx

Hey there! I would actually use another app to do this for the fastest/easiest experience! You could use an app such as InShot to edit all of these together and then post to Instagram stories 🙂 Alternatively, you could do this via an Instagram Reel > save the reel > then upload to stories! xx

Hi Dan! This will depend on your phone type 🙂 If you have an iPhone, then you can go to the "app store" on your iPhone, search for Instagram, and it should say "update" where the "download" button once was! I hope that helps!

Hi Carla! Oh no! I've heard about some people having this issue. My first suggestion is to try deleting and reinstalling the app! Secondly, you may have to reach out to Instagram to let them know there is a problem with your account and that you're not seeing this feature! Go to settings > help > report a problem 🙂

What about for Android phones... I want to make a video then add pictures I have saved in my phone... But I don't have that copy like u do

The copy feature is only available on iOS devices and some androids at this time! According to Google, there are some apps that you can download that should help with this 🙂 - Taylor, Team Louise Henry
