You should, absolutely! I’ve become quite addicted. It’s deceptive, you don’t realise how many muscles your using till the end as you’re just having a great time 😊

You should definitely give it a go, I think you’d really enjoy it! It’s a wonderful way to explore. Oh me too, I was worried about falling off to begin with, but I’m sure you’ll quickly become more confident. Having a buoyancy aid and ankle leach on has helped my confidence, as has paddling with a friend 😊 Really glad you found the tips useful 😊 Love to know if you give it a go!

Thank you! I store my board back in the bag, but I always dry it off before packing it away (easier when the sun is shinning otherwise its a couple of hours laid out in the living room, not always ideal!). Some of my friends leave theirs pumped up as they have racks in their garage.

@@TheGirlGoneNomad I only work in Grasmere but live down the south lakes about 15 mins away from coniston. So I do my boarding there mostly!

@@shanghikk I haven’t yet paddle on Coniston, but I’ve heard great things and it looks beautiful, you have a great local spot! Do you ever paddle anywhere on the coast just south of the Lakes?

@@TheGirlGoneNomad hmmm not too sure I'd want to try it with the tide's round this way. Can be in and out in a flash! I mostly go to the south end of Coniston when I do! The Brown Howe carpark is free before 9 and after 6 and it has toilet's, plus there's plenty of lay-by parking there too! Lovely little "Peel island" you can paddle out too aswell.

@@shanghikk Ahh yes, wouldn't want to get swept out if the tides are strong in that area. A paddle to Peel Island sounds great, I'm going to have to give it a go! Thank you for the advice, it's not easy to know a good spot to launch and park in a new place, much appreciated!

It's LAW where I live; Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device must be ON BOARD, not mandatory to have it on (!)... No big deal, I always have my vest on when conditions suggest (turbulent strong current). Our Alabama climate gives us hot summers, and I get to SUP practically everyday, year-round. Colder winter months are fun, too; I've acquired 4 different wetsuits from thrift stores for @$20 or less: 3 different lengths for me, and a sz.5 for my college-girl daughter. FPV's are usually under $8 (used), and I'm becoming a bit of an *outfitter*, happy to accommodate positive folks like yourselves with a free loaner for the day. I really enjoy teaching a bit, sharing, exploring...the camaraderie is "keen". Best wishes, all👍
