I recorded one of the reading lessons in this video with my dearest friend Kara. She is a beginner-level student, so she kindly gave me permission to record the lesson. Please refrain from making inappropriate comments.

Great work, I watch your every video with interest. I am always confused that how to translate sentences in which 2 verbs are used such as "we are going to eat". Can you please make a video explaining this structure.

Kara did a fantastic job! She totally nailed words that I often struggle with- yet had a hard time with words I recognize on sight. It is very difficult for a non-native speaker to know what vowel sounds to use when trying to read in Nastaliq script. It just takes practice, lots of practice!

I do not understand why in the first line below only "کر" is used whereas in the second line "کر کے" is used. پڑھ کر ایک مضمون لکھنا ہے ۔ کام کر کے وہ میرے لیے کھانا پکائے گی۔
@wolfruhn
@wolfruhn Месяц назад
The general rule is: to continue action, a 'kar' is added after the root of a verb. For example padhna becomes 'padhkar'. However the exception is when the root itself is 'kar' (karna). It does not become 'karkar' but instead 'karke'.

@wolfruhn Thank you! Yes "karkar" would sound funny.

@@greencity28 You're welcome. You should also be aware that sometimes people do not speak gramatically correctly. On the street you will also hear people say 'padhke' instead of 'padhkar'. This is colloquial, or slang. Just have to be aware. Good luck!
