Hey Homies! I’m going to show you how I made simple wooden porch lanterns as a beginner woodworker. I’ve been wanting some wooden lanterns for my front porch makeover and decided to practice my woodworking skills by making my own. I had the opportunity to partner with Varathane on this project for a TikTok video (linked below) and I wanted to share the full process here. I’ve never made wooden lanterns before but I fumbled my way through the build and I’m so glad that I did. I love the way they turned out and the stain color (“Early American”) is beautiful. The dimensions for my lanterns are below but I highly suggest finding ones you like online or at your favorite store and using those dimensions as a guide.
