For first-time players who hasn't had a Bunny Day Event on the game yet Zipper will appear _twice_ on your island, Once on the Sunday before Bunny Day and a second time on the actual Bunny Day. For players who already had their first Bunny Day event the game will memory-lock and recognize you as a "veteran player" so Zipper will only appear once and only on the actual Bunny Day and not the Sunday before but he will send you a letter instead.

When I was recording my video, that was not my experience. I had completed the event in previous years and Zipper still showed up for me when I time traveled to April 2, 2023. Perhaps it was because I have other players on my island, but I’m pretty sure they have all played Bunny Day before. What I did experience though is that because I already had all of the Bunny Day DIYs, the bottles and balloons with recipes in them didn’t spawn for me, so the game does what you are saying at least to some degree. Where a villager or Zipper would have given me a DIY, they instead gave me eggs.

Also my first bunny day, so thanks for this! A lot of the DIYs are pretty…but Zipper is scarier than a clown. :::shudder::: he crept out from behind a tree at jumped at me last night, I nearly lept out of my skin! So I hit him on the head with my net a few times and ran, lol!

LOL I'm glad you got away! I personally don't have a problem with Zipper, but I understand that not everyone likes him. The good news is that Zipper only spends two days on your island, so the rest of Bunny Day week can be spent Zipper free and you can collect your eggs in peace 💜

@@CrabbyChrissy I’m so glad he’s only there for two days! He really does give me the creeps. I wish they had split Bunny Day and the Cherry Blossom Days (or just make Cherry Blossom last all month…all spring? So pretty!!!) but I guess they want Bunny Day to coincide with Easter…and I don’t know if there are specific Cherry Blossom days in Japan that it wouldn’t make sense to separate them.

I know where I live, cherry blossom season is a pretty short event that happens in the beginning of April, so they might be referencing that. Easter moves every year, so it’s possible that Easter could be in March or later in April and miss cherry blossom season. The last few years they have overlapped though.

Just participated last night, but my second ever. Point of advice: when villagers offer what eggs to trade with you, always pick the one you have the most and should you even out your loads of six different kinds as they can stack up to 30. While villagers say they have too many of what they’re offering to trade with you, they actually have an infinite supply as if they have 99+ eggs from all six colors and patterns or something (weeds on the other hand when compared to other stackable materials can stack up to 99). Water eggs can be the toughest because you have to fish them out - only if it’s a medium-sized fish shadow. When it’s Bunny Day, then chances to fish them out can be upwards to at least 60-70% so you can get them stacked.

Bunny Day is one of my favorite holidays in ACNH! I have crafted all of the furniture and clothing in the event.

Yep, and thanks for why you should NEVER use fish bait, and how it’s a crutch to waste it. In most cases, fish bait will usually call for the big or little fish; and more for during Fishing Tourneys that take place the second Saturdays of months midway each season. And and when it comes to wood eggs, great advice on NEVER using a plain/sharp axe, otherwise you’ll have to time-travel back and forth to replant those trees and get them growing, for they take four consecutive days going forward to reach full height when planted. Another piece of advice, if Bunny Day is within the Cherry Blossom Season, leaf eggs will be easier to see before you harvest and know if they’re there or not, for they can only grow on plain hardwood trees whose leaves become cherry blossoms during that season, and in case of players whom may be colorblind and not see much difference between different shades or tints of the same color.

Another commenter said that if you have played Bunny Day before, he might not show up to tell you about Bunny Day, but instead will send you a letter. You should still be able to collect the eggs and DIYs even if you don’t talk to him during his first visit. He should definitely be in your plaza on Sunday though so you can trade eggs for some of the items 😊

I think as long as you pick up 12 of each type of egg it should trigger the recipe. Have you been able to get it to work?

If you haven't owned and played Animal Crossing New Horizons last year and is a first time player then yes he appears on the Sunday before Bunny Day, However if you did then he wont appear but instead leave you a letter in your mailbox about the coming Bunny Day event and you can't time travel because the game will think you are a veteran player.

Again, that wasn’t my experience. I made a Bunny Day video last year on a fresh island, and time traveled to Bunny Day in order to film the video in advance and it all worked like I said it would in the video. Aside from the DIYs I mentioned in my previous comment, the game didn’t treat me like a “veteran player.”

Nope! If you did the event last year, you have done all there is to do for the Bunny Day event, but if you want to collect extras of the Zipper exclusive items from previous years, I would gather up some of each type of egg to have in your pockets to trade with him. I tried filming most of this video with my character from 2020 and because I had already completed Bunny Day before, I couldn't get any of the DIY related things to happen in that account because the game knew I already had them all. So I had to play in other accounts in order to show them in this video. That being said, I really like the event and all of the Bunny Day items, so I plan on playing Bunny Day on my newest island (even though it's my third Bunny Day!). Are you going to play Bunny Day again even though you have played it before?

@@CrabbyChrissy thanks for the reply and the info! Yes I am definitely gonna play it again! I believe it’s actually our 4th bunny day (2020,21,22,23,) ! Last year I remember even tho in 2020 I crafted all the items I still do it anyway and I probably still would just to make it feel fresh! A lot of people I know don’t play it anymore but this time around I will probably still craft all the items anyways like if it was my first time playing! Even tho I am terrified of Zipper it’s my fav event! :))

So I actually missed the 2020 Bunny Day because we got the game in my son’s Easter basket and by the time he told me I should move on his island, Bunny Day was over. I think in 2021 there were some new items added, so you had some new stuff to craft. 2022 was the first year with the 2.0 update, so it still felt fresh because we discovered how Bunny Day worked with Kapp’n. I’m excited to know that there are still players out there like me who are still interested in playing Bunny Day! I hope you have a great time playing it!

Same I’m really happy there are still players that still enjoy playing the events especially Bunny day as it is the oldest even when there aren’t a lot of new stuff! A lot of RU-vidrs do not really post about event guides anymore so your vid came across my feed and I was omg yessss!

7:23 You mentioned you get the clothes recipe when you find a certain amount of each egg! I time travelled and caught a ton of water eggs during the fishing tournament and I don’t have the water eggs clothing recipes! It never prompted me that I learned them like it did when I collected the other eggs. I’m not sure what to do or if there is any way I can get them now! Do you have any advice?

Do you know how many eggs you have caught? I’m pretty sure 12 is the magic number, it doesn’t make sense that it would be different only for water eggs.

@@CrabbyChrissy I had one or two before the tournament and caught well over 20 by the end of that same day! I just time travelled to before the bunny day announcement so I’ll see if over the next day or two I can get the recipes! Hopefully going way back in time reset something so I can try collect more water eggs all over again! Just not on the tournament day!

Good luck! After I played the tournament, I was still 2 short. But when I played on Bunny Day I ended up catching tons of water eggs. I’m wondering if the spawn rate increased because it was Bunny Day.

I was so worried I wasn’t going to get it lol 😂 Now I can play actual bunny day in peace! I think I remember zipper saying something about the closer it gets to bunny day, the more eggs spawn! What is still time locked? When I say things aren’t time locked anymore I just mean that in February when I started working on this video, I was able to time travel to April and see Zipper in my plaza as if it were actually Bunny Day (which didn’t used to be the case). Is there a holiday that is still time locked that I’m not aware of? If so, I’m curious to know so that I’m not spreading incorrect information in the future 💜
