This is a pretty good place to start for most people. A lot of sports also have some sort of carry over into ninja which is what I find the most fun as an experienced ninja myself
You are absolutely right! Because it’s very strength-based and basic movements it’s easy to transition into many other sports. It’s really hard to be too strong.
So I actually took on my first ninja gym 2 days ago. They had me practice my dead hang which started at 7 seconds and moved up to 15 and I tried a foam course with a little success but still things to work on. I'm excited to keep trying and I will.
That is awesome you are pushing yourself and trying new things. You will see after a bit the deadhangs will get easier and again you will be swinging on the monkey bars as if it was nothing. Keep at it!

Any athlete sport will have some carry over, just depends how. Skateboarding will help with air awareness. What I have found the most that carries over is not being afraid of trying things as skateboarders know how to fall on concrete and be okay. You develop a good amount of mental strength.
