GREAT ! information. It makes perfect sense that big and small spoons take more or less speed to reach peak performance in your spread and when the water is cold in the spring and warm in the early fall depth changes drastically. Just like to add this for viewers. Buying a good underwater temp gauge can save alot of wasted time when the water temp is warm and it will let you know what depth the fish prefer right from the start, so you can work that area first thing. Great Vid and good fishing !!
We ran a charter boat out of Onekama on Lake Michigan for years. If you pay attention to other anglers successes, you can follow suit. A little difference can spell the difference between success and taking pictures of the sunset
Is it possible to cast and retrieve trolling spoons? I jumped the gun and bought a few trolling moonshine RVs before I realized they had a whole casting spoon series
You can, luckily the moonshine trolling spoons are heavy blanks so they cast well. Otero wise get the casting spoons as they’re made for casting and are typically heavier spoons so you can cast easily
@ChiCityYaker we are boating and have been targeting 90-150ft. Usually using around 30 inch leader max after the flasher. Had decent hookups, went 6 for 7, two weeks in a row. Flies on dipsy/flasher combo was really cranking them halfway down the column, same with downrigger/spoon dragging on bottom Why do you not mix flashers with spoons?
I fished the Columbia and brought some of these staple lures and didn’t have any luck. I was only there 3 days. I think you have to find the right colors that will work in that water color
