I'm new to slingshots (my first slingshot should be arriving any day from Simple Shot). In preparation, I've been watching a TON of slingshot related videos over the last several weeks. Hunting videos, slingshot reviews, slingshot tournaments, trick shots, etc) and am absolutely floored that this channel doesn't have more subscribers! It's seriously one of the best slingshot related channels on RU-vid.
Looks very much like a COPY of the "WASP Uniphoxx" slingshot. I've one in each of the colors offered at the time (saves a LOT on postage) after using the initial purchase slingshot and loving it. Pinky hole is great for stability.
Thanks for the video! I'm going to need to start cutting my own band's,I can't afford to keep buying them pre cut! I'm going to order a roll of two of rubber and give it a go👍
*Accelerate quicker. Shoots faster. Fast is a measure of speed. eg 300fps or 120mph. Quick is a measure of distance/time. eg. 0 - 60 2.7sec. or time only eg 0- ? as a reaction time. You're welcome.
Thanks for another great video very informative iv used tapers but still not settled on a favourite that simple shot elastic is very durable still not had one fail yet iv had other bands snap but still not simple shot elastic.
Very entertaining. Excellent presentation and video work. Informative, and your workbench is meticulously organized. My only minor disappointment is you didn't have a guy in a silly deer costume butt into that scene :)
That is all nice and good but you could have explayned if a bigger or smaller taper affects the projectile and if so, than how. And how big of a taper is better for wich scenario.
Is there a difference between OTT and TTF as far as the way the bands are tied at the pouch? I've noticed ( while not tied to the frame) that some bands lay flat with the pouch and some bands are vertical to the flat laying pouch. Does it matter how they are tied? Thanks.
How big is the difference in the different latex brands? I am looking at some Sumekei branded bands, are they any good to recommend and or what can be considered way better or not?!..
Well, brother, I’ll just be honest and say the only latex that I can recommend without any hesitation is SimpleShot Premium Black. I’ve had the most experience with this latex,
New to slingshots got the simple shot scout lt. With general purpose bands now that i cut down a bit and it zooms but i ordered some TBG from simpleshot to make me some bands and try out. My question is what taper should i use to get maximum speed/distance out of 8mm steel? Please help lol
Sup Tater! The Scout LT is a great frame! TBG is a tad bit stiffer than Simpleshot black. I would say start with a TBG at a 10-18 taper shooting 8 m. If you’re not getting the speed you want go to a 12 to 20 with the same. I think either of these would work great.
Hello sir Im new to slingshot, can you please guide me on steel ball and rubber band ratio.I want to use it for squirrel & sparrow hunting, what steel ball mm and what rubber band thickness will be suitable.
When it comes to hunting set ups, there are a lot of opinions as to which set up is best. There are a lot of guys that have way more experience as far as hunting that could probably assist you better. Here’s one video and channel that I refer to a lot when it comes to hunting. I hope it helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tylc30MGFBU.html
@@usernamemykel yes brother I am an ambassador for SimpleShot. No secret there. When it comes to SimpleShot premium black latex, I was using that well before any conversations with SimpleShot. I think by far it is the most predictable latex on the market.
I'm very confused. You said you are using a 6" active band length, and then cut a piece from the roll that was 7" long (to provide extra material for binding). You then cut the bands ACROSS that length of latex, making them 15cm (6") long. Did you forget to turn the latex 90 degrees before cutting? Or did that happen too fast for me to see?
Tapers are something you’re gonna have to experiment with. There are a variety of answers that you will get to this question. For target shooting at 10 m I use .5 SimpleShot premium black at a 12 to 20 taper shooting 5/16. It really all depends on what you are shooting, the distance, you’re wanting to shoot, the size ammo, etc. With those questions answered and a couple more, you can determine better what taper to use.
@@fabienlarcher4552 now that’s something! Well, I guess it proves that not all latex is the same. I don’t venture out much with my latex. I predominately use SimpleShot Premium Black. It’s been pretty good for me. SimpleShot also sells SimpleShot premium black in pre-cut bands as well. You might want to try them out I think you’ll like them.
OK - I think I’m starting to get it - People who watch your vids are “taters” and a slingshot band cut wide to thin is a “taper.” Slingshot designer Jack Koehler recommended “pseudo tapers” on some of his designs. Does that mean that people who pretend to watch your videos are “pseudo taters?” Also, when I was a kid, I used to watch Wild Kingdom w/ Marlin Perkins (now you know how old I am) and this one time Jim (not sure if it was Jim 3.0 or Jim 4.0 - there were a lot of different Jims and they all looked alike) was hunting a tapir, but he wrestled it (hunting was way different back in my day) instead of shooting it w/ a slingshot. So - here’s where I get confused - when hunting a tapir do you recommend tapered or pseudo tapered bands - and also do you serve it w/ taters (the kind you eat) to the taters (dinner guests, all of whom watch your videos)?. Thanks for the clarification!
