Ace will fill any size. It’s always cheaper to have them filled vs exchange. Exchange is convenient sometimes when a place to fill isn’t readily available.
At the end of the video, you mention the auto pressure regulator and using one tank at a time. My question is, what is the purpose of the auto pressure regulator if you are manually using one tank at a time? Is it to regulate the flow of the propane to the rig?
No, if you are using one tank at a time when you run out of propane you will still have another tank full. If you leave the regulator on both tanks when you run out of propane you are OUT of propane entirely. This isn't a problem if it is a bluebird day and the propane store is open... but it generally happens in the middle of the night when it's 20 degrees outside! Haha...
There are products out (I don't remember the name of the company, sorry) that make electric monitors that you can check with an app on your cell phone. They make it very easy to accurately monitor how much LP you have left in your tank. They can handle any size tank up to 1K gallon. I will be investing in them before my wife and I hit the road FT.
Great tip on the 30 pound tanks adding hitch weight. However, I'd much rather fill my new bottles I just got than to trade them with a tank someone else has used and not knowing where it has been or nearing its expiration date - but yes, you make a good point that they are easier to trade out.
