Hey, this is off topic, but any chance you could do a video on the shift between CSP's (communication service providers) and DSP's (digital service Providers) like what the difference is... where do these fit, what companies fit in which category? Why is it that some companies are classified as one or the other, and what they offer that defines this?

If I can't speak with someone with my cell phone when they are only 100 yds in a plane in the air then how can this possibly be? Especially if a sattelites is traveling 18,000 mph?

It's not just about voice, it's about data too. Also, voice can be packetised and sent as data. In terrestrial networks, there are sometimes more challenges than satellite networks due to smaller cells sizes, obstacles, etc. In satellite networks those challenges are not there. Instead you have a problem that the signal may be difficult to receive in earth if the satellite is far away and vice versa.

@@3G4G5G How can any frequency with data or voice sustain its integrity or complete its transmission while traveling through over 20,000 miles of the Van Allen Belt to reach a sattelite then come back through it again?

@@df224 Good question, we are not RF experts but it's already happening today with loads of satellite operators connecting the world.

Nice!... I was wondering if sattelite based networks were possible then I came across this clearly explained video. A quick question: for sattelite backhauling of terrestrial based stations, how much power would these base station require/consume? (For 4G and 5G services). Also, could this method be used to provide gigabit connections speed per user?

If you search for a VSAT product, you will find power consumption. It's roughly 150 to 200 W. At present, the satellite connections cannot provide more than roughly 400Mbps. We will have to wait for the LEO satellites then we will probably be able to get higher rates. But that will take a while.

Isnt coverage on trains , boats and some rural aspects covered by LMLC (low mobility low coverage) which has approved now ?

Not sure to the LMLC you refer to. Do you by chance mean Low Mobility Large Cell (LMLC) which was proposed by TSDSI as a 5G standard?

@@shysun800 Okay but just because it has been approved by ITU, it doesn't mean anything. It will have to become part of 3GPP or some other standards and then will have to be implemented in a network and a device. After that, somebody will have to deploy it somewhere 😊 It may happen that Jio may add it in their own designed network and handsets in future but I don't think we will get a widespread rollout or economy of scale.
