Checking out the beginning of the game. The start seems to be Sea Dogs: to each his own so i do skip alot of the dialogue and the main tutorial

Sea Dogs has all the elements that i like in this kind of games, but, the engine is soooo ancient 😂. Still a good game imho.

I couldn't get into Sea Dogs, however I really hope I can get into this game. After playing STALKER, I've learned to kinda love the jankiness in Russian / Ukraine / CIS type of development in games.

Imho, the jank is part of its charm. If you're old enough to have plaid Morrowind, you should get the same sense of wonder from this game. But if you grew up on Skyrim, you may not be able to get past the jank.

@@xenon333 Wonder how people who grew up on Oblivion will handle it to be honest. i doubt this game has cheats for me to solve shit myself.

@@caesarczech7920 if it’s like the original To Each His Own, you can edit the files to max out your P.I.R.A.T.E.S stats. One thing I hope to do again is slow the day speed when your sailing in the world map by changing its value in the engine.ini

@@xenon333I was 6 when Morrowind came out so I'm more of an Oblivion guy. Never could get into Morrowind - nothing wrong with it but same reason I hate CRPGs, I just can't stand being thrown a book to read for each paragraph a person speaks. It just breaks immersion so bad for me.

Is there a way to hide Firing Arc? Is there Hide Interface button? or maybe console command?

Pretty sure you can toggle firing arcs, looked through controls in options?

@madeingermany9445 there is a free sandbox version available that has less content but can give you an idea of how the game works, there is a lot of jank, i mean a lot. But can be a veey fun experience

Oh really? I can't remember the ecaxt requirements. Got the food, weapons, medicine, rum, gunpowder and cannonballs? And enough money to hire them?

It’s a bug. Reload a save, buy stuff before you speak to them and hire them afterwards.

Luckily I managed to finish that mission (needed to use an older save), what needed to complete this mission is just to buy enough food and medicine.

I'm sooooo glad I found this comment. Spent hours running around the entire Island last night, thinking the crew wouldn't "unlock" until I had done some other mission. I played the original, so know how the game can bite you. Was hoping it wasn't a bug, but I should have know better! Thanks for the heads up!

This game is so confusing. I transported a passenger to Capersville just under the 4 day time frame and he leaves my ship and never pays me!! How do I collect my money?!!!

i think you have to sail manually north around the island until you can 'sail to' lamentin bay. not sure though

Yes i believe so. I think its mentioned when the guy shows us the shop. Also can do cargo delivery quests

This IS Sea Dogs. It was at one point a mod for Sea Dogs that was turned into a full game with the Sea Dogs name. And now the name isn't Sea Dogs but it's still a mod for Sea Dogs as a standalone game.

Jesus this game looks horrendous, I'd rather play AC:Black Flag or one of Sid Meir's' games.. Why can no-one make a decent pirate game?

@@ryanrobinson8682 I mean, it is janky and looks like an old PS2 game, but that is half of the charm for me, the systems are surprisingly robust and deep for what it is otherwise. Gameplay holds me more than graphics.
