Whoever shot the video should tell the fellow in blue to move. I don't know a whole about quads. I've just switched from ice. After watching artistic competitions I noticed the a lot of the skaters let the pace dissipate going into their jumps. Doesn't that make it more difficult to land? Or is that something that is done purposely?
This was for demonstration purposes at a camp. I’m wondering, though, since your switch, are able to maintain pace as you takeoff? I believe that varies by skaters. More elite skaters would (should) be able to maintain the speed through take-off. However, in thinking more about this, the roller organizations are allowing more toe stop takeoffs now. Maybe that is what you are seeing?
@@RollerSkatingJamie Hi, I was never a jumper. I did as only as a part of the learning process. I preferred dance. I liked choreographing my own routines. I just started back skating after an accident and switched to quads. Truthfully it's so much more difficult. It's much easier to control movement on ice. These wheels tend to get away from me. I have a lot of admiration for the artistic skaters. I don't know how they do it That aside, what I meant is what I noticed when I watched them. They slowed into a jump. I would think it would be much harder to land the jump. I like seeing these instructional videos. Please keep posting.
