Hi. I also want to thank you. I just found this today. I am not Native, but I have 2 very good friends who are Creek. I am learning because not only do I legitimately love learning, but I want to surprise them! I have already saved this and plan on playing it back until I master it as best I can!

My dad & uncle's know some words, my grandpa Joe Smith could speak it fluently but unfortunately when he passed away so did the language.. I'm trying to learn my native language so I can pass it to my son's, they as myself owe it to ourselves & our heritage!!

Mvto, it sure helping me remember and refreshing our language to me again. I learned the old language, as my grandpa Newman told me the Old Semvnolē language the long words. And I sure miss hearing him speak to all his brothers and sister in our language. Growing up listening to them speak it every time they got together I could figure out what they said and I always loved when they change there expression and have the loong ending to the word. Lol I understand the old language I do have hard time understanding the shorter words idk why. I guess use to hearing old language lol

Languages have their own alphabets. Greek alphabet letters are different from English alphabet letters, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, all have their own letters. What do Mvskoke letters look like? Are they similar to Aztec?
@diouranke

Vietnamese uses a modified Latin alphabet although I believe before colonialism they wrote it in Chinese

Question: why is the Creek writing similar to Carthoginian writing?
@nunyabiznys5169
@nunyabiznys5169 3 года назад

@snakejumper3277

Creek writing is based on the Latin alphabet which was derived from the Phoenician alphabet. Carthage was founded by the Phoenicians but conquered by Rome. Some of the sound values were changed due to phonetics being different from English. Mvskoke is a beautiful language & is not related to the Carthaginian language as you stated in another post. Btw, it may help you appear more scholarly if you learned to spell "Carthaginian".
