June 1966.
Footage from Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe) in the aftermath of attacks on white farmers in a rural area near the Zambezi River.
The attacks were organised in Lusaka, capital of neighbouring Zambia by guerrillas of ZANU (Zimbabwe African National Union).
The attacks would germinate into a full blown insurgency known as the second "Chimurenga" in the Shona language. The Ndebele term is "Umvukela" ("revolutionary struggle").
This war of liberation began in 1966 and endured until 1979 when Rhodesia was reconstituted as Zimbabwe.
