Adam found a few wrinkles in the Master teardown he did earlier, but overall the design was positively reviewed. The suspension seems to be a simpler yet more practically functioning design on the master and EX20S, when compared objectively to the Kingsong S22 design, which seems to be over,y complicated and yet poorer in practice, especially concerning the sliders, etc. The Master’s battery boxes were found to be ‘not great’ in terms of robustness, though the batteries themselves inside are well enough sealed; the potential for water ingress was noted, though this is of greater concern to some but not all, and can be relatively easily improved/eliminated. Begode has a legion of haters, but looked at objectively, had the KS S20 that ‘Stride burned been a Begode product you can just imagine the furore there would have been; Kingsong has been given a lot more love, for a poorer functioning product, in my view - unjustly. Anyway, that’s the beauty of the market, people are free to do their own research and buy what they want, ‘good’ or otherwise.

High ride hight is what makes me hesitate on the master. V11 and S18 were my two main goto's till I inevitably sold my V11 due to the instability on technical terrain that required higher agility. Got my eyes on the Hero high speed.

I do keep wanting to say about the tiltback code. What i like is, If tiltback is set to 220kph then wheel goes faster until it does not have enough power so it tilts you back. So we perfer to not cut out and crash. You can set tiltback speed to any number you like, To suit local speeds. Beeps you can choose.

I'm not sure begode tilt back works over 31mph

I’d recommend trying some “Kai Pads” as they have a flex cut design that adds suspension to your legs where they press on the shin and calf and really make this wheel shine even more off-road. Also you can safely run 350psi in your shock. I also recommend getting the clark fairing for proper protection. My biggest complaint of master is packs are exposed but the clark fairing fixed that for me. Keep making master vids! My hero should arrive in a week or two I can’t wait to compare the 2 because begode seems to be only manufacture actually improving their wheels and they are very quick to respond and ship replacement parts vs inmotion is terrible!!!!

Technically, you should set the shock pressure based on sag. You should add “tokens” if you are bottoming out since they make the air spring more progressive without changing the available travel. Too bad Begode can’t just include an mtb shock with the master.

@@ZenLee I still have a V12 NIB that I never expected to see and I'd really love to convert into part of another S22 (not much luck so far). It would have been cool if I had gotten it by Xmas like they said (this was around Thanksgiving) but then even after I had bought something from them (my MTen) and it was fast turnaround and fair deal I got nearly immediately ghosted after I paid a 200 buck deposit then got charged the full list amount. Then a couple few months back this box just *literally* turns up on my doorstep...and I'm like, you know...I already blew 1600 on a V10F from eWheels (great turn around on in-stock items, BTW) to learn on in the meantime (until the S20, now S22, ships) and it turned out to be *plenty* of power and you don't need range if you can't ride that far anyhow. So word to the wise for anyone just starting out and building up those weird core and other linkage muscles you're gonna need now? You don't need 40 miles of range. You don't even need 10, really, much more is asking for trouble, speaking as another rider that is brand new to the sport. The V10F is the sweet spot in hardtail EUC, IMO, because it's got a beefy motor and bearings but has fewer batteries resulting in a slim profile with decent pedal height that doesn't weigh a whole lot that also doesn't take that much time to charge...for runs to the store it would be my wheel of choice because it's zippy enough to dodge idiots and lighter so it's easier to yard around. The V12 is significantly heavier; I use a hand truck to move it any distance.

@JM Coulon Hi. My go to on any printing is 20%. 1mm extruder tip. I shall look at my current settings tomorrow and try to post some details for you. Theres a few settings that make it print well so i shall look at those for you. By the way i have come up with match stl to tip during design and drawing stage. The great thing about it is no matter how big you print the thing it always takes the same time. Print it one inch it takes 15 minutes. Print it ten feet cubed it takes 15 minutes. Tpu great stuff. I made a spool holder from a paint roller the spool spins really easy and fits on the sheep skin bit purfectly. You need super easy spool spin. Not a old pole that the spool rubs its way round. The print really is much better with better spool easy spin. Tpu stretches easy so you want no spool resistance. I slightly over extrude by a little % for better result also. I post settings tomorrow in day time. Yip i really enjoy tpu. A bit of a trick to get settings right but such cool stuff. Once your dialed in easy. HBP near cold. 35 degrees or i set it only slightly higher than ambiant. Only just enough to trigger start print. 1 degree dont work. It usually needs to go up to a higher number than its start room temp. It dont need heated chamber. I often use builders tape on build plate. Its rubber it peals off sweet. I wish you nice success. Be well from Will andcMr Data :):]

Hi Zen, cool video. I have been riding the16x for a couple of years and I'm thinking about getting the Master , but I only weigh about 145lbs. Do you think it is going to be a big learning curve? Is the S22 a better option for someone my weight?
@ZenLee
@ZenLee 2 года назад
Great question. Really depends on you. If you want a wheel with power and speed, then definity the master, just go in into knowing its going to be a workout for the first hundred or so miles and may not be fun. The S22 would be fun for you, but you might grow bored of it after awhile, because the 16X has probably more power then it off the line, so not much room for growth.

@russellzauner
@russellzauner 2 года назад
@@ZenLee Honestly, it's mapping outward from my location. I am thinking about reading the trail guides to the places I'm going but I only have them for Oregon and the border attractions from the surrounding states. I keep talking about this guy Bill Sullivan who has been hiking Oregon for something like 50 years and maintains this 5 guide set to the state among his plethora of other published works, in print and digital. My current location is up in the "horn of Oregon" (I'm trying to force it into the lexicon because it's hard to describe this area) but on the Columbia River side near Vernonia/Rainier. The Crown-Zellerbach trail was finished being improved in 2019 and connects with the Vernonia-Banks trail and in total that's something like 60 miles one way and you end up on the Nehalem River, where if you map out places you can cross or ford (much easier with an EUC than an RM250 for sure) you get into BLM or timber company managed land so if you can get past the gate then you can keep going. The place where my father in law had their hunting camp for something like 35-40 years got taken as a drop zone when the Nicolai OHV Park was born. And now I can get back into the all the old quad trails they blocked - it's not illegal, they just made it hard for anything with gas to get back in there. So it's really yeah where to start - I don't know if I should clutter my list with the Oregon Timber Trail this year because I probably will be strong enough but not have the stamina yet. But if I can crank out the OTT early then maybe I can do some pieces of the Trans American Trail because I do plan the PCT or the CDT as *ridethroughs* (not the Appalachian trail because what is literally the point of endless mountains that don't get over 1500ft elevation) but that's only after I get a couple drones and some continuity to my mobile streaming setup. But the intent is to travel every trail in the state I can and then I should be strong enough to start moving on to the rest. I mean, I have no idea what I'm going to find up in the Olympic National Forest. If you think Oregon is deadly, the further north you go the gnarlier it gets - even mount baker is mostly for hardcore sports enthusiasts. If you want to cross over from Nevada (you're LAS, I'm PDX) Just grab the ten buck digital version of the Eastern Oregon guide from William Sullivan and you'll get hundreds of miles of trails described in great detail plus anything interesting on the eastern corners/border of the state. EUC have lighter footprint than even hikers, in my opinion, so equestrian trails are a no-brainer. If I had the legal smarts I'd have already started a state level initiative to get "EUC approved for all equestrian trails" because that's the actual way we get away from almost everyone - plus EV's tend not to spook animals of themselves, like gas rides. We'll also flatten out all the hoof divots, which actually *improves* the trail as we ride it, but many would debate that point. It would do that in most types of our dirt and clay.

@@ZenLee I would never have thought from Vibram, right? but as a lifelong Vibram sole user I am not surprised. I had to give up my Danners (I was legit sad, can't use them post-accident)...my kid has them and yes he was respectful and gets them resoled. Post Canyon (had to look it up) is over by Hood River - nice. One thing about working at Intel in Oregon is you hear about a *lot* of nice cabins/vacation houses and toys. Getting adapters to make sure we can always use charging stations is a must though, as going from Canada to Mexico on I-5 you're guaranteed charging stations at least as often as gas stations due to the actual success of the West Coast Green Highway Project (I've probably ranted about this before too) so anyone near the west slice should be able to roam pretty freely as long as they can use public chargers. People also use them to charge their powerbanks too, like the *big* ones. I have a cool helmet that's finally coming next week - it's not DOT rated but it should be fine for trail riding as it's a skydiving helmet. :-) It was here last month (took like three months to get made, yeeeeesh) but then it was ill-fitting in a bad way so they just offered to send me a more suitable one and remake it for free. They did send me a return postage label in the email telling me my new Bonehead Composite Dynamic is in the mail and here shortly. If you don't mind waiting 12 weeks for a build, I can highly highly recommend Bonehead Composites but I wouldn't trust it against a car or bollard. I'll make a quick video if it actually fits this time. The one I had was the Fusion which is more of a pilot/diver hybrid and was not as cool in person as it was on paper. The Dynamic is a more spacious Aero (sometimes my hair gets *really* long) and if I'm blowing 400 bucks on a helmet with decent field of view then I may as well spend 50 bucks more and get a helmet where you can't really see it unless you want to while you're wearing it.
@russellzauner
@russellzauner 2 года назад
This is the one that's coming. The Fusion model is the one they offered to swap out (again, they don't keep any stock no matter what their website says) and they got it done in just about a month. Looking at who is presenting I think they may have started making prototypes of the Dynamic because I bet if I ask her she'll say "yeah I asked them to and they did", which is the best possible answer one can hear from and about a vendor, I think.
