This is by far the best talk about classroom management I've seen - so practical and intelligent, thank you!

I just got hired for a LTR position and this really helped me calm my nerves. I was really rethinking whether I should be in the profession because I was feeling overwhelmed at the thought of teaching. The tip about not having the goal of being a perfectionist and looking at your first solo teaching experience as a professional development and learning opportunity really struck a chord with me. Thanks so much! Mr Bennett would be the perfect mentor for PRTs/NQTs!

key points from this talk: 1. dont over do praise because it sounds disingeniuos 2. some kids dnt like public praise therefore do it privately or write it in their book. 3. d.t should be a punishment so get them to copy, etc.

I have a severe case of aspergers in my room. The student chases students around the room, yells out inappropiate things etc. Any ideas

Guys, it is always nice to listen such a calm and cool answers but when you are in front of 30 clowns, it is difficult and different ball game. According to the latest news last year 50,000 teachers quit the teaching profession due to behaviour issues by kids and tonnes of paper work etc. UK education system & parents itself spoil kids first and then tell teachers to get away with it. Poor teachers.

exactly. And sadly teachers cannot do anything. they cannot even stop kids fighting. I'm sick of teachers who aren't allowed to discipline. parents have defdo spoilt kids and teachers will continue to leave
