Hello, Richard! Could you do more videos about cabin crew interview questions and answers? I recently discovered your channel and I'm delighted with all this high quality information!! Thank you very much 🇧🇷
Hello Richard, Amazing content all-round that is extremely valuable and helpful! The structure you use is hands-down very easy to follow and gives us candidates confidence in any upcoming interviews. I have recently been attending several behavioral based interviews within the energy sector and I have come across one question that really got me off balance. 'Tell me a time when you suddenly changed your mind on a firm/concrete decision that you made?'
Ugh, I wish I saw this last week. I had a behavioral interview last week and didn’t receive an offer. Unfortunately, I was underprepared and overwhelmed but I do have a interview with a different company this week. Have watched your video today so I hope this helps!

Great content, but as someone that has been working in talent acquisition for over 20yrs, I can say that not ALL Hiring Managers know about the STAR method. I wish they did.
Is any wonder no one wants to work anymore? You have to go through series of interrogations and emotional trauma to get a mediocre position. What are they going to do next, hook you up to a lie detector test while answering interview questions?
You shouldn't lie for sure. Be yourself and answer honestly, but hopefully my content can help those that are more than capable of doing the job well, but aren't good at interview technique and cannot portray that they have the skillset.
Hello!!! Thank you for your help!!! I really appreciate all your efforts! I have a hirevue interview and i will need to answer the questions with the star method. The position i applied for is casino dealer on board of virgin cruises. Do you maybe have a video for that? 😊 thanks

i think, STAR interview is just making you lie to yourself and to the people whos interviewing you. you're just being fake! i think the best interview is tell me about yourself, and tell me why you wanna work here, and tell me why you want leave your current job. (if there's any) then take it from there. People applied because they want the job, and if you look at their resume and you think they dont have the qualifications that you're looking for then no need to call them. done! why make it so hard.
From having to interview many times recently I definitely understand your frustration. You would think these questions and the overall hiring process would have evolved by now. Interviews turn people into politicians, you have to give answers most times you don't believe in and nor do most of the panel. Everything is scripted by the time a person is hired and passed the qualifying period you're looking at a completely different person than was interviewed. Much like a voted in politician. We are taught to lie for advancement. You are being rewarded for memorization skills rather than anything analytical.
I have heavily criticized the interview process for making you lie or be fake. Things like "I want this job because I align with the values of the company" etc. Pretending to be excited. Not everyone can apply for only jobs they are excited about. Or pretending salary isn't vital. But I disagree with your statement that STAR encourages you to lie. Star is just a way to remember how to organize a REAL story about a real situation you were in. Step 1... Tell them a quick background of a real situation. 2... Tell them what your real actions were 3... Tell them the final result of your reactions. I think if you lie and tell fake stories that's on you. I have come up with very real stories that match all of these interview questions.
I agree but disagree with this , as for example I’m applying to the police. And this STAR technique is exactly how I must answer the questions so I avoid waffle and I hit every part!
I have a question that I gave a decent answer on but could you give me a top scoring answer? Here goes: Since this job relies heavily on building relationships tell me about a relationship you created and what did you do to keep the contact established? (this was for a contract manager position where interacting with people from other departments are extremely dependent)
Thanks for your comment! What answer did you give? Take a look at this, I hope it helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6b6_gnSulmU.html
@@CareerVidz I started out telling them about a contact that would call and actually run through an entire process (ordering supplies) for me since I was a new to the role. I went on to say that I would tell him how much I appreciated him sharing his knowledge and I would send him an email, made a thank you phone call, or a simple "teams" message just to say how much I appreciated him taking the time out of his day to run through the process. I also told them that he is my "go to" contact when I need something because I know it will get done.

Hi Richard! I just wanna ask your opinion if this scenario is considered as conflict with co worker. > my senior coworker ask me to check supplies expiration, however I wasn't able to finish it on time due to increase number of clients coming in and out from the unit, and so my coworker was upset of me. I took the time to explain my side and the issue didnt grow big to the point of escalating it to the manager or supervisor. Is this a good answer to tell me about a time u had conflict to a coworker? Thanks Richard. Im just really having a hard time creating answers to behavioral questions.
Yes, this is good but you will need to elaborate further and show how you explained the situation and did you resolve the issue and carry out the stock take in the end?
Your manager asks you to complete a task, but think it's impossible to achieve what would you do and say???? What is the answer of this question..kindly tell

I detest the STAR interview technique. As a 45 year old woman with over 25years of work experience and who has recently re-trained, trying to distill my varied and plentiful experience into one ‘STAR’ example technique is extremely frustrating and more suited to recent graduates with more limited experience. I am really struggling to work to this model,,, but realise it is the ‘one size fits all’ approach these days’. 😢
@@CareerVidz Hi thanks for following up on my comment. I really appreciate it as I have an interview tomorrow for a ‘senior caseworker role’ and have major anxiety. For context,,,,, My first degree was in Politics and International relations and I worked in various NGO and local authority community facing, support and project management/ commissioning roles. Due to local authority cuts and austerity I was made redundant in 2012 and set up my own consultancy. Whilst delivering paralegal services I also then retrained and have recently graduated with my Masters of Law and LPC (solicitor qualification). I recently flunked 3 legal training contract interviews before I really appreciated the ‘new’ STAR technique. (That was not really a ‘thing’ when I was being interviewed for graduate positions in the early 2000’s.) I now realise this is how most employers interview but it’s extremely hard to ‘talk about ‘A’ time I worked in a team’ or ‘A time’ I demonstrated leadership etc,,,.🙄 I know I need to get my head around it,,, but struggling to adjust. It all feels extremely arbitrary and fake and I’m getting extremely jaded at having to ‘re-prove’ myself.

I had a video call interview with one of the biggest companies in the UK last month. The interviewer who was interviewing me connected from Birmingham and originally was from spain. He at the beginning of the interview told me my english knowledge is not so good and maybe you won't understand some parts of my words, I was shocked ! Not only was he not able to speak english fluently, but also he could not say one simple sentence without error or adding spanish word. Finally, I received an Email and I was rejected due to my explanation was vague !!!!!!

Hello Richard good afternoon I have a question if I may I have done lots of interviews and when getting feedback I was told you didn't do well in the competency part of the interview I am frustrated as I have done my very best but that is not enough unfortunately. the question is is there is any tips/techniques which could help when answering the interview questions. I feel that I am good at these then there is a big chance of getting the long awaited job offer. The other question I have got notes which I took to the interview but it seems that isn't good technique would you advice taking notes which has bullet points which helps in answering the questions or just take the cv and use it to answer the interviewer questions
