Startling new research reveals thousands of families are left to cope alone with the devastation of dementia, feeling overwhelmed, unsupported and isolated as they pick up the pieces where health and social care is failing them.
This recreation of Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Support Line calls, voiced by the charity’s celebrity supporters Anne-Marie Duff, David Baddiel and Suranne Jones, brings to life the desperate calls the support line has received every day since its inception in 2019.

What is dementia?
‘Dementia’ describes a group of symptoms that include problems with memory, thinking or language, and changes in mood, emotions, perception and behaviour. Dementia is a progressive disease, which means symptoms may be relatively mild at first, but they get worse over time. There are many types of dementia but Alzheimer’s disease is the most common. The next most common is vascular dementia.
