I visited Bruce and Brandon's grave today, as I am in Seattle for a few days. The quote that he says at the end is actually on his gravestone. I went to visit the grave and pay my respects and I was amazed by the amount of people who either walked up, or stopped their car in the cemetery to visit the graves. The Crow, the movie, always makes me feel incredibly sad knowing that Brandon was killed. The comic too, for the reasons that drove James O'Barr to create it. I do with they hadn't carried on with sequels and left it as it was. Brandon really shone on this film and he would have gone onto greater things. RIP.
just watched this for the first time in over 25 years and i thought i wouldn’t like it as much as my teenage self did. Man was i wrong. This movie is so awesome. I realize now how many of those 90s movies i took for granted. 30 years late and there’s been nothing really like the crow
Still gives me shivers to think that the film is about a man coming back from the dead, and was only completed by CGI bringing Brandon back from the dead to actually complete it. Still my favourite film. Genius. "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is."
Oscar Travis it just like you want to get to the bottom of this you know you got his family members you got people that in his inner circle thinking it wasn't no accident
Spooky to hear Brandon Lee talk about the movie is past tense as they had clearly not completed filming yet or he would not have been able to speak at all.
MovieViking my understanding was it was about 3/4 done. With his death they did some reshoots and changed the story some. He was on for 2 sequels and the original ending had him still walking the earth because he had broken the rules of resurrection by helping the living. I watched a whole thing about it was very interesting
Spirit Animal greed bro and ego. Someone wants an easy cash in. Instead of being inspired by the Crow and make my own film why not remake it the way I want it done and get all the money I can.
I remember seeing this at a premier and the girl, I think in the girl in the film her name was Sarah was there, also it was my birthday and it was the film's release. I still have the invitation. The theatre is long gone though it is a fond memory.
Imagine where Brandon Lee would have been today. Especially in Hollywood in regards to Hollywood action movies. He would be a legend today. He still is a legend but oh my Lord he would have had so much accomplished. I know there were a few albeit cheesy movies based on comic books before this one but back then this was the first I ever heard of a movie being adapted from a comic book and it excited me so much. It made me dig into the origins of it and actually pick up some of the comics. Unfortunately I only own one or two today but at least I got something LOL. this ship broke my heart I'm not going to lie I was really young when it happened but I was so looking forward to this movie and then I learned about what happened and I didn't understand it quite yet and then I watched the movie and for some reason at all just hit me and it was the first time I ever actually felt true sadness and melancholy watching a film especially at the end because it wasn't just the end of the movie and/or the character it was the end for this poor actor who lost his life due to negligence. the last time we were never see his amazing skill attributed to film. I swear I get choked up every time I watch it and hear him say "It can't rain all the time." At least one good thing that came out of his death was a very magnify to look at stunts and safety coordination and a lot of different clauses changed so that this wouldn't happen again. It's just a shame we had to lose this talented guy for that to happen.
If he was still alive I think his movie's would go straight to dvd. There's alot of unethical things going on in Hollywood behind the scenes I think there would be very eye opening things for Brandon to see what Hollywood really is. He would get blacklisted like Michael Jai white, JVCD, Gary Daniel's.. list goes on.
Brandon Lee was the first actor the creators of The Matrix had in mind for Neo when they were writing the early drafts. That would have made him a major mainstream star.
Why would you not want a remake? It's not like it will ruin the original and you'll still have the original. Nothing wrong with a remake, if you don't like it, don't fucking watch it.
Art Mienz oh man it's bad enough that came out with a sequel City of Angels so mad that was a terrible movie Brandon Lee will be rolling over in his grave don't make anymore Remix 2 to the original please don't Miramax you guys would be making a big mistake and I got the movie too and I got the book on how they made the movie
Art Mienz I believe I do have a f****** and pinion people are coming up with stupid conspiracy theories that Brandon Lee was killed by the Illuminati and that's a bunch of b******* voice my opinion on this something something it will try to try and send did it because they have a lot to gain by killing him just like they killed his father Triads are known to sink their claws in the film industry
Art Mienz new row huh I know what I'm done know damn well what I'm talking about and I've been following this s*** for years you know I'm saying the Triads did it I'm just going by what other people are saying if Illuminati had any Cuts in the always there yellow belly they don't have to f****** guts to do this it wasn't Ryan said did it they had everything to gain by telling him just like they did his father 20-something years ago
Sure can. Last time I lived in Vancouver is rained every day for *Three Months*... Good thing I had a long leather trench coat to keep me dry. Losers would call me *"The Crow"* because of the coat. Then in 1999 they called the *"The Matrix"* so immature people can be.
I loved the feel of this movie when I 1st saw it . Brandon brought you into Eric Draven's world psychologically. You saw what he saw and felt what he felt. I couldn't tell you the roller coaster of emotions that I felt when seeing it, even now, that's how great it was done and how well Brandon did . What Brandon says at the end of the interview is what is on his tombstone... It was his favorite quote.
Therese ya I want to say this about Brandon Lee people might find a corny but he will make it will be good he would have been a good husband to Elijah and a good father and a husband and what he's going to be reciting is that's his witty wedding invitations that was going to be when he was going to get married
Shut up with this "don't remake it". Of course it won't be as good as the original, but there's still a chance it can be good. And you'll still have the original. I don't get this concept of people not wanting a remake. It's an awesome story and I'd love to see a good directors modern interpretation of the film. You'll always still have the original.
how the hell did this only get 9,000 views and not 100 million? this is legendary man.. and I disagree.. eric draven WAS a hero =) he took out the trash with style..
Just saw this movie yesterday. Yes it's dark, not for everyone. The characters are all very zany, but you can tell Brandon was getting better at the acting part. He had the physical part down like his dad. But he made you want Eric the man to succeed. You could feel the love and compassion he had for those around him. The end of the movie where Eric basically says he's going to his death got me. Kind of amazing that he could make you feel like he was vulnerable despite killing 100 dudes just five minutes before.
I love that David Patrick Kelley made allusions to how James O'Barr was able to utilize his personal experiences as a means to cathardically pay homage to Edgar Allan Poe and John Milton. Him, Brandon Lee, Tony Todd and Ernie Hudson are all incredibly intelligent people (I refuse to speak of Brandon in the past tense). What a phenomenal cast.
Its amazing they completed a film at all. It's a amazing legacy that Lee left behind even more so considering he was just beginning and growing as an actor. Many of the biggest stars today could not have took on this role in there 3rd outing. Looking back and seeing the influence of The Crow on what came after( batman begins and dark knight especially) and where comic books are today his legacy should only continue to grow for quite some time.
This could very well be nostalgia talking, on my behalf. However, I was actually thinking about this film a few weeks back, when I came to the realization that "The Crow" is arguably the very best film of all time. It's amazing to think that, in the next 10 months, Brandon Lee will have been deceased for 30 years.
Brandon casually smoking a cigarette there. Bad-ass. Little trivia here. The actress playing Shelley (Sofia Shinas) was really worried that Brandon wasn't wearing a bullet proof vest. Brandon replied, _"If it's my time, it's my time."_
Lone Star I wish she was wearing a bulletproof vest but whoever break that gun they knew what they were doing when they did it those bastards they kill them you know I'm saying karma is a mother f***** I'm just so mad and angry enough said that good good people like Brandon Lee and Bruce Lee are gone are taken out so full of sleep for no reason at all I'm a sucker man I just hate to see
Brandon definitely would’ve loved the final product of them movie. It’s such an amazing movie and nothing could ever top the depth and aesthetics of it!
It still baffles me that nobody ever asked the director of this movie, Alex Proyas, to direct any of the Batman movies. God, he would've fucking killed it.
I know everyone misses Brandon; but I am really angry!...... Brandon Lee deserves not one star on Hollywood's walk of fame (which he hasn't acquired) but like I once posted somewhere else----he deserves 2! It couldn't be a more perfect time for a first... And he doesn't need a last name......" BRANDON.". I find it very hard to say rest in peace because a part of me still feels he's still alive. SOMEWHERE>>>> Brandon was....magic! Unmatched! Unprecedented! Never before seen! Magnetic! A remarkable intellect! A wit that would floor you! ....will never be....another Brandon Lee.
Part of the genius of the original is that the supporting cast shone just as brightly as Brandon did. The villains are truly villainous because the actors were great actors who took their roles seriously. David Patrick Kelly, Ernie Hudson, and Michael Wincott notably, but the minor gang members really stood out because they were awful people, they couldn't have cared less about it, and seeing them get what they had coming was all the more glorious for it. This movie truly was lightning in a bottle, and both the other movies that followed and this new atrocity about to be released upon us have nothing on it. The new one in particular is just Hollyweird yet again showing their complete creative and moral bankruptcy.
Awesome movie! R.i.p Brandon!! Soundtrack is amazing!!! And as much as i dont or wouldnt wanna a remake, if they do, it will be only for the purpose of the black and white with color in flashback film...🦇
