I hate to admit to myself how long ago I had my Delta training 1983. It was intense but thankfully I made it. I remember I had 2 interviews, but it seemed as if I was hired after the first. I enjoyed the job and never really had any problems with it. However I wouldn't want the job in this day and age. There are far to many serious difficulties to deal with now days.

@NintendoSEGAreviewer
@NintendoSEGAreviewer 2 года назад
@@umbreonpokemon8190 Yeah if they do they only get it for flight hours. All the labor they put into the job doesn’t get paid until they close their plane doors. And they’re limited flight hours too. @travisarcamone1451

@@NintendoSEGAreviewer some usa flight attendants on top out pay can crack 100k per year. if you are making $72 per hour (deltas top out pay) and work 100 hours per month, that is 7200 before tax, and on top of the flight pay they are paid a per diem for being away from home which can easily be an extra 1000 per month or more. so no, it isnt minimum wage. however, money isnt great the first couple of years generally.
@Niteowlette
@Niteowlette Год назад
100 hours per month gets you about 10 or 11 days off at home unless you are senior enough to hold long haul international. The average pay is $55k - $60k flying about 80 flight hours per month, depending on the airline.

I just applied for an FA position with Delta. They are very selective on who they hire, its been said that you have a better chance of getting accepted into Harvard or Yale then getting hired with Delta. Ive seen people say they got hired on their 1st attempt of applying where others have taken them 6, 8, 10 trys of applying. I know every major airline has the positoves and negatives, but with all the times Ive flew with Delta be it economy and 1st class once, Ive had amazing experiences

@@Graciedog Sure. You are right when it comes to Quantity. But no one can serously compare the qualifications demanded for harvard with those demanded for delta. And I am wondering about all these folks applying. Did you ever see all these delta fa youtubers ? Often they are not even able to speak a clear sentence in their own native language english. Nope I’m one and I’m only getting paid about 18 an hour for a regional airline and I know I deserve more but it grows with time but I still believe we should be paid way better even starting off because not only going through training we have to move to where they base us which means the airport all of our trips start and end which could be out of state or far away from home and we have to find a place there off Farley quickly. There's room for improvement in the recruitment category. The archetypal airline crew seldom displays any genuine interest in other people, rather in their own perks and image. At least if they were truly passionate about travel, it could make up for the tedious part of their work and put a smile on more faces.
@balticbabe1
@balticbabe1 Год назад
It is mentally and physically exhausting, not to mention that you're serving hundreds of passengers per flight over and over again, oftentimes through the night, and extremely long shifts, ranging from 3, 4, 8 or 15 hours. It's difficult to maintain engagement with 400 people while working with barely a break on a 10 hour shift. Most people who do such physical work; garbage collectors, which we are, paramedics, which we are more often than you know, bouncers, which we are, conflict resolution experts, which we are, don't necessarily execute their duties with a smile or engagement with their patients or casualties. Our job is equally difficult. Not that flight attendants shouldn't be courteous but there really isn't a lot of time for the type of engagement you're seeking. It's a tough job, requiring a lot of stamina and patience for the often trying, oblivious and rude customer, and who are increasing in number
