Full time college student and truck driver here. I don’t get much time for cs but I love RLs content. If you’re ever by my side of the world drinks are on me!
The tragedy of becoming a true richard lewis fanboy is never missing a stream and therefore having most of youtube be old content 😢 i am enjoying myself
Richard, I'm like 25 minutes in, but I have to say that I am inspired by how you take accountability of your actions. You don't sugarcoat it. You don't make excuses. You own up it to it and you show empathy, understanding and growth. I've watched your stuff for years now and it's always helped me out tremendously (more than you could imagine), and to see you acknowledge your past mistakes helps me, because I've had similar problems. I know the rest of this video will be an absolute banger and you just showed me why I love watching you so much. You're a man of integrity and honesty and I love you for it. I would love to have a drink with you sometime and chat because you make me want to be a better person. Anyway, sorry for all this asslicking, but I just felt the need to let you know how you've reached me. Thank you, Richard. Much love, brother. Regards from the Netherlands.
A million times this. Richard’s ability to hold himself accountable and maintain high standards is truly commendable. It takes immense courage and self-awareness to do this.
Ima have to be real guys, been watching Richard for awhile but it feels like Jason and Chad having to point it directly out during their first interaction as a reality check, at his age is a long time coming. Too many years later did he realize his love for cs,the scene and the friendships he made along the way were being washed away behind his petty decisions and overinflated ego about being “the goat journalist” One thing you could learn from one of your close friends Thorin is that, even though the TOs may not want you, the players and the fans will still appreciate your content if it is good content. Again no hate, just trying to keep it real for a man trying to make amends for being a diva online when it wasn’t necessary
To be fair I was there for the sir chad of baggington shenanigans and laughed alongside the others, but I didn't stop and think for one minute that he should have called him before assaulting him on stream. I feel bad for going along with it as a viewer. The good thing to do was obvious but I was oblivious to it
yet again listening to rlewis continues to humble me. a man like this continues to learn and grow and make mistakes and heal. really shows and tells that we're all not perfect, but we can always strive to be better. much love to you rich, ty for everything you do. you're a legend and someone i look up to - for your failings and your strengths in equal measure. not many people can do content so open and vulnerable like this.
I just want to say as a viewer, the experience and production of this major was fantastic the whole way through. The chemistry and vibes between the talent was palpable, and it elevated the whole show. The production was the best that I can remember at a major since ELEAGUE. 10/10 would fail my pick 'ems again
If anyone ever bullies you for going to the gym or trying to get fit send them my way. Every time I have met any cs or esports player at the gym has only been an incredibly positive experience. I swear the trolls just live online.
Hi Richard, I’m the crazy fan who sends in those chocolates. I’ve been doing it at every big tournament I go to. They are not that expensive tho! But they -look- expensive. (Also thanks tax write off). But I do enjoy the idea of the crew enjoying them. Super underrated part of the total experience, so every big tournament I bring them. This time a friend of me brought them by car from Belgium since I came by plane and couldn’t bring them. Untill next time, from the chocolate man.
Usually put your stuff on in the background to let the bald man shout at clouds while I work. This one was different. Locked in the entire time. Engaging, heartwarming, it's awesome to see you work on yourself, reflect and take accountability. Most wouldn't have the chutzpah to publish something this open and honest. Glad to see you back on the desk & much love to you Rich.
this was one of best vods i ever watched, truly inspiring, i'm super happy for you and you also made me change the way i look at things. thanks for the great insights, everyone has flaws but you surely have some great personally traits and moral standpoints and im super happy that the negativity got softened within you keep up ur great work
Thanks for uploading it to youtube, look forward to watching it. I enjoyed this major very much btw, thanks for your contributions on the desk, great stuff as always
I loved watching you fling shit at people in your toxic arc, but seeing you give flowers instead is nothing short of inspirational to me as a fan of you and the scene. I have been in that momebt where i feel like im a nice guy and my own past actions directly confront me, and it took a long time for me to realize that i am a douche and need to work on myself. Im glad you had that moment and im glad you got to grow from it instead of double down. Amazing video.
I watched this live, and I related a lot to what you said about becoming someone you weren't proud of during the last few years and getting back on the right path and growing. I'm glad you're getting out of that place Richard, I'm getting back to who I used to be too, and you sharing this story will hopefully help some others in the audience get the drive to go on that healing journey themselves because it's always worth it. :)
You’re always articulate, insightful, and entertaining but this was vulnerable and so pure. Thank you for sharing your story, Richard. And thankful you had an enjoyable major - how our tables have turned! 😉
Love the honesty and tough conversation at the start. Swallowing pride and admitting that you made an error is one of the hardest things to do. I respect you a ton for it.
Every time I hear the shit you went through Im still in awe how you pushed through everything. Very happy you had so many great moments, wish you all the best. Even though I only started watching you around 2022, youve quickly become pretty much my favourite personally in the scene. Esports needs its GOAT
Following you through the years and the journey this video shows.. Very proud of you mate. Thanks for doing the major and very good to have you back in the scene!
Richard, I genuinely love your content and everything you stand for. And I am overjoyed to hear you rediscovering yourself and your love for being in the scene. Can't wait to see more of you. Wish you all the best
This video right here is what pure class is. I've always rated your journalism as top notch but the level of bravery and growth you need to have as a human to acknowledge mistakes and pledge to do better in the way you do in the start of this video is astounding. Hats off to you Richard.
I have been a fan of Richard's work for around 4 years now. Watching him show such a fire in wanting to clean up the scene and showing such strong leadership to rally everyone to fix what we all love is so inspiring and means a lot to me. The optimism is electric. CS is looking so back.
Hey Bro, great video genuinely. Can't describe how this video reminds me of a much more serious real life take on Reflections, but from your life in the last few years to current day and it's truly heart warming, eye opening and fucking real man. This has truly brought me down to earth again and I can't really put it into words as it's quite weird but watching this and listening has humbled me a lot. I'm so happy to just finally hear that you're back and I loved I mean the major and I'd say seeing you with the part you played is easily 65% of my enjoyment, the games and the result makes up the remainder of the 35%. But hearing the encounters you've had from everyone at the major and how you've also been humbled but in a positive way and niw you've squashed everything with everyone who you've has issues with, you might not agree %100 but at least you've made progress with people a year ago you'd never had thought you'd have any relationship with again. Thank you for all the work you've done not just in the last 10years but I'd say since I started watching you in 2017 since 2021 I've watched your videos every single one the day they've come out everytime. Sometimes the hour plus ones I'll space out but I love all your content and I genuinely don't know what I'd do without it. I also believe CS is better with you than without you and I'm so happy that you will be contributing in the future towards the game as you are a GOAT in more than field of hosting or journalism or just being a great honest human who's not just man enough but genuine, loving and selfless enough to take be ready to take constructed criticisms from people you've come up with. Sorry for the long comment I'm just truly so happy for you and this community that you're doing so much better in terms of everything as you've been through so much, but you help so many with your words your content just Richard Lewis is needed for so many. Please don't stop the amazing grind you've put in it's truly inspiring and much appreciated everything you do. Thank you mello ❤️
Glad you had a good time. Sometimes friendships are lost, without knowing. Had that a few times, rebuilding them is definitely difficult but 100% worth it in the end. Enjoying these videos!
Watched this live with such a big smile on my face, a couple tears too at points. It's been a shit couple years for a lot of us, I'm glad you're slowly healing and moving forward as best you can and i hope the trip to Japan helps close this chapter.
We love you Rich! Your ability to introspect sets an example for the community on how we should conduct ourselves moving forward. Thanks always for your contributions to our scene and the massive leaps in standards that you have pushed for throughout the course of your career. We look forward to seeing more of you on the big screen soon!
I do seriously mean it when I say this is one fo the most uplifting videos I've seen. Seeing a guy who I admire admit his flaws and make peace with the past and look forward to the future. Actual inspiring stuff Rich. Wish you the best :,)
A man is not judged by his success but how he responds to his failings. On this Richard, you are truly a hero for this accountability. Love your work as always and glad we have you in the scene.
Richard, thank you for everything you've done for esports and for entertaining and informing us throughout all these years. Also, hearing your apology on the first part of the video made me respect you even more (didnt think that could happen) Absolute GOAT
Desk was tremendous all the way through the event, I thought you, Bleh and Maniac in particular had fantastic chemistry. Super glad you're back to events man!
Reposting comment since it was deleted somehow. 2 hours into the video and I'm loving the authenticity and the "behind the scenes" tidbits. Really good transparent video.
Iv been watching since 2015, I know you dont know me personally but you do feel like a good friend to me, in the recent years when Iv had struggles I would always rewatch any random episode of the Richard Lewis Show to push the shit to the side. And these types of discussing tell me exactly why I’m still a huge fan after all these years, it’s because your the GOAT, and the pinnacle of integrity, your admission of guilt in your struggles shows how much of a shining light you are for this scene, god bless brother! Here’s to many more years. 💪
glad to see you're actually back, was interesting to watch the healing process over the last couple years. enjoy the new spin on life. i'll be around to drop some more subs on twitch when i get the spare money.
Richard, I am happy you understand how good of a human being you have to be not for yourself, because that's how you end up being in the mindset you were before the major, but how good of a human being you have to be for all the countless people who look up to you and who deserve the best Richard. I am sure you will enjoy infinitely more your time working now than ever before man 💪
I'm really glad to see you like this! I'm in a pretty shitty situation in my life, and this is wonderful to see. It gives me hope for me as well! Happy for you dude!!
You are one of the only people who can make me listen a non edited video for 3 hours. Happy that you got you life back on track, it was really wholesome to listen to. Edit: I need to go to sleep, but I can't stop listening.
Richard, I you're one of the most important people in the scene and your work is unrivaled so I'm glad to see you're sort of getting perspective on life again. Your shit was going off the deep end and it's a relief to see you're doing better.
Richard I've been watching your content for quite a short period of time and love your content even though you may rag on some of my favorite players an listening to you speak really happily on the major and reconnecting with friends I feel really moved and as someone who feels that he's been online a bit to much as of late I feel really motivated to reconnect with people and I really hope you bring some more of a positive out look to some of your content in the future because its really heart warming many thanks keep up the good work hats off for sticking it to Astralis
Just 33 minutes in so far but its so great to hear everything went so positively and you were able to mend bridges. Obviously this doesnt change the fact that theres fucked up things in esports, but it's great to hear that you were able to make up with people and sound so rejuvenated
Theres no doubt of your journalistic integrity, quality of work, and impact to the CS community. I admit it has been hard hearing the jaded attitude that came along with that wonderful work you do. Very excited for a next chapter and continued great work supporting the people who are also doing continued work to make this game as good as it can be. Cheers and respect.
Richard, I've been watching since 2016, so I suppose at this point I'm a long time viewer. Hopped on your content right before CSGO Wild, got wild. It was sad watching you struggle with your mental health throughout the last 5 years. Through the pandemic, I noticed your struggles and could feel them through your work, and like you said, out of character comments. Its a joy to see you return to a happier path. You are the only journalist I've followed for this long for any subject. I'm talking like I'm 30. I'm 22. You've shaped quite a bit more of my life than you'd think you would making videos in Europe. Cheers from MI, USA
how can anyone hate you. i don’t understand. what a stand up guy. respect. i haven’t been around for most of what you’re talking about but i have huge respect for you and the rest of the talent and production for entertaining us out there.!! hope to meet you one day richard
The throw to Harry and Hugo at the major final was so well done, it nearly brought me to tears. Your content has changed my life and provided me with laughs through some of the darkest periods of my life. I’m glad you did the major and excited to see a less bitter Richard.
man i really am happy for you. also selfishly happy for myself as well because I think this positive attitude will reflect in your content and it'll be pure
I just wanted to say thank you I listen to your videos when i get up and it helps when struggling to get out of bed at 4am before i leave for work i listen to them when i need to fall asleep which helps me turn off my head after a long day I listen to them at the gym to keep me going Im barely watching esports, let alone CS anymore, but with this i can keep up with whats going down Watching BTN got me into CS, now Thorin and you are the only thing that still connects me to the game
It warms my heart that you took the opportunity to host the Major and that unexpected great things things came from it. The parasocialness certainly kicked in hard today 😂 but those first 30 minutes made me tear up more than once. Thank you for sharing your experience, and great work on the desk 💪🏻 I’m very excited to see you on future broadcasts!
It takes a lot of character to go out and show this kind of perspective and remorse about past actions. Glad you are in a good space and wishing you the best for 2024.
It makes me really happy you had a good time Rich, I think we can all agree you deserve it more than most! Nice to hear that you and Sam had the opportunity to see each other, we all miss you two as a team.
This video is perhaps a good time to mention something I've been sitting on for several months: A few years ago I sent you a nonsense, childish, BM, waste of time Twitter message because I thought I was being funny participating in a barrage of other people piling on against you. It was stupid and disrespectful, and not at all how I normally conduct myself even under online semi-anonymity. I was going to apologize when you responded to it, as I had completely forgotten about it not long after originally sending it, but you (rightfully) re-blocked me afterword, leaving me without a good avenue to do so. I'm a nobody and you shouldn't listen to me, but I apologize for my behavior.
Anonymous online or not, takes a lot to realise what a melt you've been lol. Same case for me, blocked for some shit I had said during the 3kliks spat, I think? I'm not even a 3kliks "fan" and looking back at it, it was an emotional response while being completely uninformed so fair play, I wouldn't want to read my dumbass takes in RL's position. All in all, I'm glad i got blocked because it made me reflect on my some of my past behavior online and get off the internet more.
Him and thorin, they ban and unban people randomly from time to time (source: I was blocked for leaving a like on some troll tweet on thorin's replies lmao, then after a few months voila I can see his tweets again) So you're prolly getting unbanned soon don't worry
