Yesterday I was asked to broadcast next year's choir competition at our local high school. 12 hours later, this video comes out. This is everything I needed, and more!
Raider Network is the broadcast and production network of Jackson Academy. Jackson Academy is a high school in Jackson, MS and the school offers a course on campus as well as provides opportunities to work on real broadcasts like this one. The crew is made up of local professionals, staff, and students. Students get a chance to work through nearly all aspects of a broadcast and often times get the chance to technical direct or direct, run replay systems, audio, etc.
Why is the truck so far away from the PAC? Is this because where your fibre goes so that you don’t need to run your own? Great videos keep them coming.
Yes, the truck requires single phase power or a generator. So, when on campus we have a spot near the football field where the truck is parked with cam lock single phase power connections. From there we have a fiber run that goes back to a central location, which then gets patched to places all over campus. It’s just much easier to do it that way so we don’t have to run as much fiber for every event and we don’t have to worry about the generator systems.
