I agree that the Ashley comments were uncalled for. Why not just say, "I made some minor changes to the dressing room like this new carpet." You don't need to be snarky about it.
And if she'd just said "I've had a new carpet laid" you'd be saying it was unnecessary and she was wasting money. Scarlett's lovely; she wasn't being rude, just stating a fact.
Scarlett originally was offered to play Glinda in the West End Production of Wicked replacing Helene Dallimore. She turned it down to come do Mary Poppins on Broadway but I heard she said that she eventually would love to go into Wicked
+akuma27199 Both parents were dancers and their aunt is Bonnie Langford; it's definitely in the genes :) I've only seen two of the four but Summer and Scarlett are both amazing.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the whole video of the backstage look into the day in the lives of the actors who play Marry and Bert. But when I heard about the ghost of the chorus girl or whatever my mouth dropped wide open. I've always have secretly wanted to see a ghost.
I was lucky enough to see this show in New York when Ashley took over for a couple months 2 years ago while the current Mary was off filming something. She is absolutely phenomenal!
People ask me where the crew hide their stuff, because we do not get dressing rooms. Truth is, I have seen my crew mates hide coffee with batteries and chips with the paint. Once, an actor found our tea kettle near their costume and all we could do was laugh because the poor girl was so confused... So that is my story. :)
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam and he is very kind. Asked him a question about his pre-show ritually and he literally did it for me! It was very funny, haha :)
Just went to a performance at the Phoenix Symphony where Scarlett was singing! She is absolutely wonderful! She has such a great range and sings beautifully! She has a kind and warm presence on stage which makes a person feel more like their at home in comfort vs sitting in an audience with strangers.
well their mother & father were both dancing in the west end, their aunt has been a west end and broadway lead since she was a child and their grand mother has a dance school in UK... I worked with 3 people from this family and they are all very talented dancers and singers
I used to work at the Prince Edward theatre in London, back when Poppins was on. The cast were always so nice and that was back when Gavin Creel was Bert... but we went through about three different Marys while I was there!
Her negative comments about Ashley and demanding new carpet replaced makes her highly unprofessional and a diva. Bad form! ... Burt, however, seems like a nice guy.
