Behind the scenes of Mariah Carey's summer camp for underprivileged kids I Nightline 

I once read an article that Mariah actually donates a lot of money to several charities. Several people aren't aware of this because she donates privately without being publicly recognized.

Every child deserves the chance to be happy.

Mariah has always donated to organizations that help children without trying to get attention and gold stars for it. It's awesome that this is the 25th anniversary for the camp!!

Think of all the young lives she's helped and affected in a positive way. It's amazing.

Her music itself has saved so many lives and spoken to us in so many ways. Looking In, Portrait, Can't take that Away, Reflections, Hero, Anytime You Need a Friend, Petals, My Saving Grace, Twister, Heavenly, Fly Like a Bird, Make it Happen, Through the Rain, Music Box, etc are some of the songs that have comforted me throughout my life. Mariah Carey's giving back is so well thought out and planned for making hope for our world youth. Robotics and engineering can help make adaptive devices for people with physical disabilities and Song practice is very therapeutic. Every song I hear from Mariah Carey is therapeutic and inspiration for my family lyrics of cultural peace for our whole world was my goal I prayed for. Now they are so inspiring others on their own just like so many decades and centuries of music artists as far back as Bach and Mozart in Classical music and tribal drum players and chanters .

I went to this camp, met her a few times (and she's great!) And the camp really does focus on career awareness. I learned a lot of skills that helped me through highschool and college and some I still use today 😁

Mariah Carey is truly an entertainment icon. One of the most talented musicians ever AND one of the most humble people ever. She comes across as a diva bimbo at times but when it comes to her fans...she LOVES!!! her fans!!! She does so much for her fans and that's why she's so beloved.

ugh... such a wonderful woman extremely overlooked and underestimated nowadays. she could still singlehandedly dominate the industry but the f*cking tabloids are always on the ready to come up with "disastrous performance on NYE 2016", "mariah accused of sexual harassment", "mariah is fat", etc. what about the legacy, the philanthropy, the fact that she still can sing her ass off, the last album which is her best reviewed album ever? they always have something to talk about, but only bad things.

I think more celebrities should show how theyre helping people and children in this climate we live in especially because most of their parents are struggling and it’s frustrating to see these wealthy artists talking about “I get the bag” gloating on social media being bragadocious and not speaking on or using their platform to talk about the political climate in the world or current events. It makes me wonder if any of these celebrities have an education? I’m glad Mariah showed this because she is giving children and people hope and changing lives. It also balances out for young kids dealing with depression and commuting suicide like trans children. I’m over the reality tv show big headed celebrities swearing their A list actors feuding with each other, their fans and isochronously belittling their fans.

This is why I feel Mariah is like my big sister. I do feel in my heart she is a big sister to me.
