Zach Snyder _could_ be making some amazing movies -- as long as somebody else is writing it and a strong producer is keeping him focused. Otherwise he gets lost in the action/cinematography/special effect... at the expense of story.
You can say that again..His visual are stunning but at least he needs some co writers..Make it more simple ,like the fact that they travel across the universe to consolidate a single man doesnt make any sense
Man Framestore, WETA, Rodeo, Scanline, Luma and Mammal all did an outstanding Job i Cant wait to See which Studios did which Sequence and which character i know Framestore did the Griffin He looked Fantastic. But would be nice if they would Name the Studios behind the creatures. The Shot where Jimmy is in the water and washes His face is the best Shot of the movie. All the replacement damn man .
The movie's special effects were impressive, especially the creatures and how they were used in the story. The attention to detail in designing the creatures made them stand out, adding a lot to the movie's look.
I just watched this and I really enjoyed it, to me it felt like a cross between Mandalorian and Andor, but quite grown-up Star Wars that wanders away from the original universe a little, yet feels absolutely grounded in it, just, y’know, the next sector along or something.
Wish you guys spent as much time on character development, coherent hero journey and a more original script - great effects and i hope part 2 does it better ⚡
That's the directors cut of part 1. It's not an excuse for how bad the PG cut is, but the directors cut is the actual script for the movie, the fully realized version. I just wish he could do all that within a 2 hr time frame
Nemesis's swords are the coolest weapons since Kylo Ren's lightsaber. There are a lot of really cool concepts in this movie like Jimmy and alien that was controlling the zombie. I hope part two or the extended version expands on the lore.
This film rocked. I still don't get why you didn't release both the "theatrical" and directors cut on day one , but I can wait. I guess. Great features on this film .bi love the vision on display in this movie.
I actually thought the gryphon was an unused model from some other production and they used it to save money. Or why in the Universe would you make an alien creature identical to a gryphon, except it is black? But then you also have a mix of D&D drider and Borg queen. I enjoyed the movie, but I was surprised at the lack of imagination in the design of alien creatures.
well done CGI mostly, the sceneries felt very lifeless and unreal, like old matte paintings but somewhat worse as the colors and details don't feel they should be there
Terrible script. with a lot of plot holes, cliche dialagues, and characters poorly introduced and later on the direction is just a waste of time.... 4 out of 10.
While this movie was highly flawed and had generally poorly developed characters it is visually a very impressive experience. Its pretty amazing that they made both parts and two different versions of each cut for only $166 million which is over $60 million less than Disney spend on The Marvels. Its clear Zack knows how to stretch his dollars a lot better. I hope the upcoming directors cut fixes the issues I had with the movie.
my only criticism with the cgi of almost every flying fantasy creature I’ve seen that people have tried to design realistically in live action series, is that these creatures have mammalian ribcages. If realism is what they’re really going for those dragons and griffins in those shows are gonna need more bird- like ribcages with keels instead of flat sternums. They often leave the hips uncovered too in flight (when the wing feathers or membrane ends in front of the pelvis), which would be something else that wouldn’t really work. But hey, dragons and griffins don’t exist 🤷♂️
Do send him over to Corridor Crew after the release of both R-rated parts please. It's been a long time coming after so many requests to have him as a guest.
Great job!!! 👏🏼 looking at #spacex and rebel moon takes you straight to wonderworlds. The Bennu & Jimmy scene, Stunt Albert, and launch, robot-emotions & shoot, intro-of-characters man ...just too awesome to watch. Wonder why IMdb hates this masterpiece. Kudos the entire team
Oh My God! Yes I Definitely Nominate For An Oscar Category For Visual Effects For One Of My Most All Time Favourite Netflix’s World Premiere Epic Space Opera Film Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire For Me.
I feel like 50/50 i waiting this movie for so so long and when i finally saw it i keep with the sensation that the story have big missing moments like when you write something lightly and fast with no background or more profound scripts. I know that's impossible put all in 2 hours but some of the characters and the storyline itself was very poor. Also, i really enjoyed the behind scenes and the concept art behind it would ve nice. Specially for artists in the field like myself. But, i still wait and see the 2 part❤
History repeats by Netflix, Why always with Snyder??? I want 300 like Snyder vision and the final product, not like Rebel Moon in which I just can't be bothered about any character whether they die or win.
I don't get why these people are actually proud of the digital effects. They look half finished. The creatures have no weight or mass. Interaction with the real elements is total garbage like that platform floating in middle of the green screen goo. The Jimmy thing is just okay.
Over hyping the cgi. A good story need to have a good story. The cgi just need to be seamless. Just compare Godzilla -1 over this pile of nonsense. 15m vs 200m ☹️
That Godzilla cost $15 million because the VFX studio that worked on it pays its artists peanuts. The salary was something like $1600 a month with unpaid overwork. That the movie cost $15 million is suprising, the budget must've been even lower than that. This is the sad reality of being a VFX artist in the movie industry today. But sure, go on about how it cost cheaper than Hollywood movies.
@@श्रीजनरिजाल that's not the point. The point is regardless the budget is Godzilla -1 is stil la better movie than Rebel Moon, a shomoguesboard of mess
@@sufianahmat5334 Story, sure. But CGI discussion is an entirely different beast. People should think first about the criminally underpaid and overworked VFX artists before bringing the 'small' budget of Godzilla Minus One. VFX artists are an afterthought in discussions like this which is extremely frustrating.
this movie was cringe. so many unnecessary slowmo scenes. Many characters were introduced for nothing. They died spontanious in stupid ways or didnt really add anything to the team. i wonder how the extended cut will be. Snyder follows his Dead Army approach and seems to focus more on superificial visual trickery ( DOF, Slowmo ) than on anctual character development and story. maybe this movie was made for the tiktok Gen ?
Ha ha ha! Incredible FX? I'm not sure what planet you're on but this movie feels small, looks small and has no depth of field with its terrible CGI. Netflix is really doubling down on this trash.
That spider scene was there for no other reason than to 'look cool.' Why would anyone's choice be to go hand to hand with your 2 arms against an 8 legged apponant? I was watching this with my 12 year old son and as soon as the spider started attacking he shouted, "Why doesn't someone shoot it in the head?" Why indeed. I wish that was the only problem. It really just felt like a 2 + hours Zack Snyder FX bucket list.
I honestly went into this wilfully wanting to enjoy it but wow. I keep coming back to it but there is more chemistry and camaraderie in the first 10 minutes of the marines in Aliens than in this entire movie. Different costumes do not mean different characters. Why isn't a talented writer being given this gig? The script seemed to be the last thing they thought about. Again. Like hiring an architect after your house has been built.
@@dickmagnus The marines in Aliens are an established team that has worked together before. The characters in Rebel Moon are meeting for the first time.
That is precisely my point. When Ripley, Burke and the new Commander Gorman meet the Marines, think about the different dynamics and how that plays out on screen. Then compare that to Rebel Moon. A group of people from vastly different backgrounds with zero interaction of any interest between them and by the end of the movie nothing has changed except they've spent some time together. Compare any number of movies that assemble teams. If you don't agree with the Aliens analogy, maybe Reservoir Dogs is a better example.
